i had been driving a Manual transmission car for about 2 years before i got my truck. goddamn i hate shifting. my left foot is sore after lots of stop-and-go traffic. stupid clutch.
I don't have/need a car anymore, which is great.... but I always drive stick since I learned roughly 5 years ago. I prefer it. It's cheaper and more fun.
The only advantage of the automatic is that it makes it easier to eat and drink while driving. :p
Still learning here, although I failed in July. Test is on the 28th.
Automatic is almost unheard in Europe, correct? I read something like 90%+ of the cars in Europe are manual. I don't know if that has changed since I read that stat several years ago. It was one of the main reason I switched way back when tho. :)Quote:

my next car is going to be a manual, i've learned but never had one myself.
interesting sidenote, in Europe they are forced to pay more for manual over automatic because that's what everyone wants
