If I'm not going to have Xbox Live for the immediately foreseeable future, is Crimson Skies worth purchasing simply for the single player aspect? Or would I just be better off waiting until I picked up a Live Kit sometime down the line?

Here's the scoop: The single player game is very solid, but it simply pales in comparison to the Live game. I just got mine in the mail from the MS retail site and I'd like to say one thing.
Control = perfection. I had no idea the controls would be mapped to the XBOX pad so remarkablely perfectly. It's a joy to fly!

Just played about a half hour with Mog til I got disconnected. Pretty awesome game, but I need to find a plane I like. At first I was going crazy til I inverted those damn controls.
Finaaly fought my way back to three stars. For the moment at least. I really hate the ranking system, i cant play for a couple days then comeback to see a bunch of people who just bought the game push me back to 14,000 rank just because they start iff with3 stars...=/ i was like 3,000 before.... well at least im back in the 6000 range.
Evilmog: i accepted the invite but it didnt connect with the game....=(

I havn't had any problems with Crimson locking up on me. Recently it's only been EA sports games that give my xbox troubles. I hate playing Tiger Woods with the thought that your entire match could be for nothing if the next hole doesn't load right.
I don't have any problems either. but in any case. I wanted to play more...and not enough of us from here were on. that is unacceptable. everyone must buy this game! :)
I shouldn't have read this far. Being unable to have broadband sucks. I might get this game for the 1 player mode, though, seeing as how Rebel Strike is sub-par.

Suddenly, my Live time is booked up with 3 solid titles (CS, Rainbow 6, and tonight...Top Spin!). Still, I really hope that excitement for CS doesn't die as it is a great pick-up-and-play experience, made that much better by the heavy TNL involvement.

No... because if you buy another cable modem your provider will notice that there are two MAC addresses running through your house and will charge you extra. A router is the way to go here... it'll be cheaper in the long run.Quote:

Man, I've owned this game for a week, and don't feel like unplugging my cable modem from the comp.
But since my girlfriend is gone until Sunday, there's no reason for me to leave my Yahoo messenger up, so I may be on tommorrow.
All these ps2 games I got are keeping me from the xbox, which sucks, and that's the other problem.
I use the Bulldog and Devastator pretty much, although I haven't tried out everything yet.
Tones..when we were playing, did you talk at all? It seemed that every game we played, I was the only one talking on our team..

I had the same problem and I was about to throw my XBOX out the fucking window. The problem was that fact that I had one of the IP addresses(not the one I use for XBOX) setup with the DMZ host. If the DMZ host is on, it won't work. As soon as I turn the DMZ back off, it works. I hope this helps.Quote:
