That was one Hell of a boss battle. I liked it. I'm a bit disappointed in the plot, as this was the perfect chance to show off how cool the Crimson Skies universe is, but instead we only got to visit four or five locations. Excellent locations, but there's a whole lot more they could have done with it. And with the nature of the quest, it would have been really easy to make it a globe spanning adventure.
But, I know the major draw for most folks is the Live compatability, so I guess I lost out. Maybe if it sells good enough (and I fully anticipate it doing so, as my store can't seem to keep ahold of them) we'll be treated to a sequel. Not to mention I can't see FASA Studios working on much else besides a new Mech Warrior title or a new Crimson Skies title.
I still have to try to get my hangar full of all available planes. I got more than half on this run through, but I'd like them all, just to see which one is my favorite, or which one I'll be using on Live. Right now I like the Brigand a lot, and the Dauphin is a neat little plane.
Well I gave this game a try... its awesome. Like Twisted Metal Online to the 10th power. Yea I totally sucked but that's nothing that can't be changed with some practice... the 2nd game I played I got like 8 kills and 15 deaths, but that was good enough to put me in 7th place in the match out of 16.
I feel sorry for all you bitches who don't have an Xbox, Live, and this game... have fun warp piping Kirby's Air ride. :lol:

i played Crimson Skies over th weekend for the first time. i hopped on XBL with it and kicked some major ass. im surprised that i was good at it. Box Drink is damned good (seriously. its not even funny) 1 vs 1, but when theres more than 1 other plane on the map he doesnt do so well.
another reason to get an Xbox. now im starting to regret buying the 'Cube. :/

I dont regret buying my Cube. this was a pretty good year for it. However, I have Xbox and PS2 too, so i dont think i count.
I'll be hoping on Live in a few hours, this game is a blast. The only problem I have with it so far is the Flag Heist scoring is kinda iffy when it comes to personal stats, I see way too many single dice flag runners and star rated defenders. Flag captures and even flag touches should count towards your skill rating.

i've had the game for a few days already, but i just tried the multiplayer mode for the first time. a basic 2 vs 2 team dogfight. fun, but my teammate dropped after one minute./

Anyone else having trouble with disconnects? :( Wondering if its me, Crimson Skies, the games I'm joining, or what. I don't think I can host, as I have it behind a router, so that isn't an option.
I haven't had any ping or pl problems with any computer games, and I don't have any other XBL games to compare this with. What I've played has been lag free, but I seem to occasionally just get dropped from a game.
I can host and don't have any problems, but on occassion - I've encountered situations where my connection attempt was stalled, possibly due to the host having a poor ISP.
Everyone remember to add me. I'm online rather often. Bahn, for some reason your not on my friends list anymore... send me an invite.

Played a ton last night, had a friend over (it was Dave bahn ;)), so he was playing as a guest.
If he can figure out how to get his Live id on his memory card (they removed it from the dashboard in the live update), he'll bring it over and I can have two guests - four of us freaks will reign supreme!
I hate about four of the ships, am decent with about two, and very middling with a few others. The lag is a little annoying - there's no NOTICABLE lag, but you can notice you're taking fire, dodge, and die. Or pick up a health pack, die, hear the pickup sound. Just gotta be really careful I guess.

Yeah, I noticed the delays in healing and taking damage, too. Oh well.
The only plane I REALLY like is the Devastator. I also use the copter when I get bored.
I don't really like any of the multiplayer modes except Dogfight. And I don't like being in a team, either, but I'll do it if it's what people want.
The plane I really love is the Dust Devil--something really satisfying when you shoot somebody with a barrage of machine gunfire.

Dude, you're so much better than me! I remember chasing you in Arixo and you passed a ridge and you went 90 degrees straight down and I totally lost sight of where you were. You were constantly leading the games in kills though. I'll be glad to play you again! ;)
Yeah , I havent noticed any lag either except for the after death pick-ups of health and stuff like you guys mentioned. Last night though in a couple 16 player dogfight deathmatch's I'd die see a message for who killed me and right before respawning would get a message that I'd shot somebody down. Weird, because I'd see the guy I was shooting at flaming up pretty bad but it didnt appear that they were dead...?? ... Bah as long as I'm getting the kills thats all that matters.. :nod:
Another thing how do you know when someone is holed up in an Anti-Air artillery battery unless you see shots coming from it? I swear to God every time I'd hop in one - I'd have like 3 guys gunning for me before I even take my first shot. Does it just give you a red target TD box like the enemy fighters or what?

NEW PLANE AND LEVEL DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE!
The new plane is the Fury (I have FURY!)... it's similar to the Dust Devil in that it's quick and has a machine gun, but it's secondary weapon is, like, the secondary for the gyro-copter, only faster.
SO it combines my two favorite planes into AWESOMENESS.
The new level is the Caverns, and it's like a huge wide open space underground. It's pretty good.
Holy Crap. went online for the first time tongiht, after struggling to figure out how to get live to work on our old antiquated router, my brother gave up and spent the bucks on a new one. Live sub. was supposed to end in november but i booted up to see what would happen, went online right away, downloaded all the content and then into a game i went. Planes seemed a little slower online than in single, but i adjusted. Very cool gameplay. I'm lovin this game all over again.
The planes aren't slow man. you've just got a crappy connection >;p
Mzo: Fury honestly sucks compared to the other planes. I've ended up going back to the old faithfuls. They should've given it a higher rating for speed or firepower to truly make it a warranted selection for newcomers and veteran players. I may as well be just use Devastator - since the Fury doesn't really offer any significant advantages over the existing planes. I hope we don't have to wait another several months for something better. Caverns, the new level is quite nice - but lately I've been avoiding it. Btw, have you noticed the massive increase of scrubby comp on there lately?!?
No, I've been hooked on CVS2 lately, despite the fact that 90% of the bitches on it use some sort of EX groove with their chain combos and shit. Bah. Yeah, I could put on a filter, if I wanted to wait 30 mins+ for a game. Which I don't.
And you're right about the Fury, I've gone back to the Dust Devil myself =/
If I don't get home too late from EB tonight, I'll check out these scrubs for myself.
