State of Emergency 2 in development

VIS Entertainment announced today that they have secured the funds necessary to start development on State of Emergency 2, sequel to the million-selling original.

"This special arrangement is a demonstration of the faith which our investors have in VIS," said Chris van der Kuyl, president and CEO of VIS. "Now we will concentrate on bringing State of Emergency 2 to market while negotiating with publishers from a position of strength. The first game topped the UK and US charts at its launch last year and sold well in excess of one million copies. We are confident that the sequel will be even more successful."

Though no gameplay details were revealed, State of Emergency 2 will be out before the end of 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC.

It better have a 4 player mode like the original had, but with a better story like Evil Dead had (aka, less boring and more variety in missions). I also want to see actual "rioting" and not just 200 people running around in circles.

I didn't think SoE was so bad. It wasn't worth paying anything over $20 USD, but it wasn't bad either.

If they can make this one a bit more fun, and a bit less repetative, I'll pick it up.

The first game was horrible. The sequel won't sell as well because people who bought the original are smart enough not to buy crap once again.
