a surreal experience in Target

So the electricity has been going on and off all over RI today most likely due to the extremely high winds we are having. I was out shopping this afternoon and went into Target. I get in and the power is out except for a few overhead emergency lights and the cash registers. It was quite an odd experience to shop in half-darkness and watch a few random shoppers glide around the aisles like nothing was out of the ordinary. It was one of those things that make you smile and say "I'll probably never experience this again." A few minutes in, the lights came back on and the moment was over.

Anyone else ever had the pleasure of shopping in the dark?

i've been working retail when the power went out. We have to evacuate the store, no registers so people have to put thier stuff back. If it stays out, we go home :)

Back in the holiday of 98 when I was working at the Sports Authority the power went out, and I swear to God, every employee in the store let out a cheer.

It happened for a short period of time when I was at a furniture store with my family a few years ago. I was very tempted to hide, and hopefully create a Clue-type situation.

Happened to me a couple of times working at Toys R Us back in the day. Every shopper had to be attended to by an employee carrying a flashlight, it was pretty surreal. :)

happens to us at borders all the time - we're used to it - we evacuate the store and after a bit if it doesnt come on we all go home - those days are always great!

I had that happen to me around 96 when I worked 3rd shift at K-mart....it was christmas time and GAH it sucked...cause the place was rammed pack with people doing christmas shopping. We had to frantically watch everyone and people were asking dumb questions and wanting me to find stuff.

Even had some drunk rednecks wanting to argue with me about hunting socks...I wassn't in the mood.

I misread the title and thought it said "sexual" experience at Target :(
