I liked the DC demo but it didn't make me rush out and buy it. I might pick it up some day.
I bought it over the summer for $10-15 and played it for about a half hour, got through the mildly tedious training mission, tooled around in the overworld, and got to the first level. Unfortunately, I also bought KOTOR that day and after playing it Fur Fighters was promptly forgotten. I'll give it another shot soon, but there are other games I want to clear off my pile of shame first (Paper Mario, Eternal Darkness, Dungeon Siege, Soul Reaver, etc.) And on the control scheme - it isn't necessarily bad, but it definitely takes some getting used to.
I'd like to get my hands on the PS2 version which had controls more suitable to my tastes. Any thoughts on that one?
The PS2 version is identical to the DC version except for a few details here and there, the biggest being that they slapped cel shaded graphics onto the game, which isn't bad, but the game looked great to begin with and this wasn't needed. They also gave the fur fighters voices, which again is nice but isn't needed. And I don't remember if it autosaves whenever you change your character like in the DC (I don't think it does, but I may be wrong).
All in all, I say get it, especially since you can buy it for like $12 used at EB.
I really enjoyed the DC demo. It's one of those games I have been meaning to get for ages but never got around to. I'm not sure if I should track down the DC or PS2 rev bu I'll get it one of these days.
If you guys got a good enough PC then I suggest you get the PC version. It looks absolutely gorgeous on the pc with all the nice looking environments, bump mapping..etc. Also I think the mouse/keyboard control is absolutely perfect for the game.. feels like a FPS ..its quite natural for the game.
You could probably pick up the pc version on ebay or something for dirt cheap.
The only complaint I have about Fur Fighters is just the annoying animal chatter. Its not subtle and soft like Rayman's character noises. Wish it used real speech or just give me an option to shut it off and stick with just the subtitles.
I played the DC demo disk version and thought it was pretty funny and somewhat enjoyable. I did'nt have any problems with the controls, I believe you could switch the forward button to one of the shoulder buttons to make the movement easier.
I picked up a new copy of the game for $5 at a KB Toys outlet store. I've yet to play it though.
Played it, loved it, lost my save file for it, haven't played it again since. I keep it on the shelf with the intention of finishing it one day though. Not sure why reviews panned it, it's a great game with no major flaws to speak of.
Heh - I actually bought it when it first came out for the DC, took it home, put it in the DC, and played nothing else until I beat it and collected all the babies over 40 fours later. One of my favorite games on my favorite system, and one of the few times when I thought a Halverson-gush wasn't overkill. I actually started a second game which I play once in a while.Quote:

I also dug the soundtrack, especially how it switched tones depending on what Fur Fighter you used (Rufus' has bagpipes). The snowy city level remains a favorite of mine, although all of them are memorable in one way or another.
I would really like for Bizarre Creations to take a break from PGR-ing and make a sequel.
