I always wanted to see how people look at the difference between the two. I think I'm gonna choose genesis since the gameplay is closer to an arcade platformer and I like it's pace compared to the way snes A3 trogs along. (the music is also grating)

Alien 3 is one of those games I've always wanted to try, but never got around to doing so. I've even seen both the SNES and Genesis versions for sale at Gamestop, but something else always peaked my interest instead.
I'm wondering how long was this game out already, ten years?
It's been out for right around a decade.
I never played the arcade, and played the SNES version first, which i prefer. The graphics were nicer, and i liked the pacing of it. Made it more suspensful.
Genesis one all the way. It was super difficult--having 20 or so aliens on your ass = suspenseful. Not only was it a good movie licensed game it was even better than the movie!
The Genesis version is far superior. Back then I rented it and then bought the SNES version thinking it was the same except better-looking. I was wrong. The SNES one is nicer-looking but the Genesis version plays so much better. How the hell did the SNES version get so many votes?
I enjoyed the Genesis version more, the depleted color palette worked very well with the tone of the flick. The controls and gameplay also seemed to be a bit more refined and responsive than the SNES version's.
Both are stunning games (for movie licenses), I enjoyed the Genny version's gameplay more but loved the graphics and sound of the SNES version. My only beef with the SNES version was the difficulty, ammo conservation was a huge pain in the ass.
Now to go fire these up :) *-neo
Cause its better ;)Quote:

Hmm, Genesis lack of colors, definately didnt work well for this game. It just looked washed out, where SNES version had perfect representation of the levels, simular to their look in the actual film.Quote:

I vote for Alien 3: The Gun.
Man, I always wanted to try that one. I only seen it on the pics in game magazines, but it looked great.
