Currently we have one talented designer working on something for us, but for kicks - I was curious if there were any other talented designers here that had an idea as to how they'd like to see TNL look when they hit the homepage.
what colors would you change? how would the navigation look? have at it! feel free to present your idea and attach it here :)
This is a mock-up of course...I always like to draw up what I want first, so that I can figure out the best way to get it done.
I like the current TNL Color scheme, but desided to focus more on the blue tones. I also wanted to incorparate the new tnl logo with a simplisitic yet high-tech kind of look.

I like the color scheme and I wouldn't want to see too many changes, but it's your site so do what you will. The site could use a little more flashy designs.

As for colours... do something different. Green and blue is okay, but something closer to each other. Like if you go pastel, make all the colours pastel.
That logo could be good if it were tweaked a tiny bit.
I like the logo you guys have. But the hiearchy on that sumbitch is definitely off. Make the the smaller and the level bigger.
It looks like
THE NEXT and level as an after thought. Perhaps making it stand out more would do well?

I just realized that one of my sentances could be confusing. When I said the the, I mean the "THE" in the symbol.
I just don't like the overall look of the design. The colors are fine but the whole thing looks too segmented. Again that Kenshin designed logo looks wreched, not because I hate Kenshin (I wasn't arround for the period in which I would've developed a hate for him,) but because it looks like some lame suburban white boy attempt at ghetto graphitti. Just post a TNL logo contest in the Art Community board and let us make one that doesn't suck. How is that for constuctive?! ohh take that bitch (Andrew.)
The new design is still under progress. It's just caught at a bit of a block right now. (Office work drains the brain.)
Building a new PC this week, so once that's up and running I should have new inspiration to get it finished.
Say what you will about "the new logo", but I will tell you that it's not the new logo. The new logo is a modified old logo, that thing's just a "tag". A bit of fun.

Kenshin is a great site designer. That little prototype definitely looks cool, though I think it's obvious that it's not exactly usable for TNL. It, along with the TNL tag logo, is an excellent example of his graphic design skills.

That red text is horrible, and the buttons are generic. If you could do something sleek with that menubar on the left it would look pretty decent. Obviously those review shots would need to be modified a bit as well.
It degraded a bunch when I saved for the web. That's why the red text looks like that. You can see the difference on the first one I posted on page 2 of this thread. Not to mention, it's just an idea of what it'd look like, so the image quality isn't much of a concern really. The text and stuff on the review shots on the right got messed up when I changed the colors. But like I said, it's an idea, not a source to be used or anything.Quote:
