I saw some coverage of it in the new GI issue. Could be good since it has better design in characters and possibly gameplay.

Well, I am probably THE ONLY person on TNL who actually liked DTR. Yes it had problems(mini games challenges were annoying), but the action sequence were awesome, and they made the game for me.

I am looking forward the sequel, and the side story that Namco is working on, and just hope that they would work out the problems, and make the action more fun.

Hey there, I loved me some DTR as well. It was just really damn hard, but I enjoyed the action and such. More games need to copy Max Payne, and I'd be alot happier.

The first game had potential to be great but just didn't work out. They need to take this game away from Namco Hometek and let one of their proven Jap teams make it.

Game informer did a fairly large spread on this game in the most recent issue, it looks to be shaping up really nicely,the hand to hand has been fixed,and the diving seems much more intelligent this time. plus, shadow is less of a kind of super bomb, and more of a true stealth character, very interesting, just no weightlifting and arm wrestling please, and NO MORE FUCKING STRIPPERS!!!!!!!!!

they address that for gi, they say that while the dtr for gc sold better than they expected, they know that these type of games dont sell well on the gc, but they arent ruling out a gc version if it sells well. so its no gc version YET,one may still happen, not that i care, this looks to be a box game for my rental. Not my kind of game, but me+martial arts=some interest

it means that as you dive you rotate your body realistically to target baddies. If your enemies are at 6:00 and 9:00 you would, in a somewhat convincing manner,turn in mid air and point one gun straight back at the one guy,and point the other(assuming you have 2 guns) to your right at the other guy, in other words, if you accidentilly dive past a punk, you still aim correctly. so diving is more strategic since you can go between 2 guys and hit them both in one move.

New Slow-motion system sounds nice. I played first game without use of slowmotion, thanks for not that great button layout on Xbox pad, but dj liked it when he was playing.

I agree that lockpicking, weightlifting and other mini-games must go away.

I only played the GC version of the first and it was a pretty boring game. Hopefully they put some time to make it at least look good.

I saw those GI screens, & I don't think a gritty "realistic" "story driven" (mentioned 10 times in the discription above) game shouldn't have a cop spraying a gatling gun. It just doesn't jive well with what I imagine a good storyline would have.

JM, hello he is a really tough renegade cop. They get to use Gattling guns, and the ability to slow down time, and play like shit.

Not true. The Gun Play was MORE exciting than it was in MP. It did give a variety of moves and techinques, such as using enemies as shields, Shadow to disarm and kill enemy and get their weapons, and various Disarm/Kill moves. Those parts were realized nicely.

It just the rest of the game was spoiled by mini-games galore, that turned off most of the players.

Nobody wants to listen to anybody defending Dead to Rights anymore. The game was terrible, and its old. DTR2 is a new game, so its a new day for that one, but as for the old one, it had its day in the sun and its trash.

Despair why is it that I can't harp on the game and you can praise it? You always complain about people saying only negative things about certain games in threads, it would be pretty boring if people only said positive things about every game on here. YOU think its fun, I think it sucks. I have not said anything like, "Despair you are WRONG! Your opinion is stupid!" I am not attacking you, I am attacking the game. You don't need to act like you gave birth to it.

First, I do respect your opionion of the game, after all it is yours. DTR is not flawless, and only parts of it I do praise are the actual actiong/gunplay levels, which are the highlight of the game. Otherwise, the presentation is spoiled by annoying minigames, and some other challenges. I dont praise it, but I will speak up, in defense when someone says something about the good points it had.
