Hmm...first off, he mentions that La Pucelle has many features derived from Disgaea...but I thought LP was made before Disgaea, and just released here secondly. Also, from his preview, it sounds almost exactly like Disgaea, down to the dark/item world, combo attacks, and wonky character placement rules.Quote:

La Pucelle was first. GI are morons.Quote:

Well, now they sound like standard rpg characters. Do they have skillsets or attribute developement you can customize? Or do they just level up and get abilities based on that? Also, is it like Disgaea where all your stats are primarily from items (juiced-up Muscle Victory's and stuff like that).Quote:

Over time, each character will be customized based on how you use him/her. However, the characters can only level-up if they kill or are part of a group that kills an enemy... so committed healers tend to be weak.Quote:

Hmmm...sounds like La Pucelle will be fun, but PB will be the one to set new standards. Can't wait for both...next week is almost here.
Next week...shit, I need to finish Disgaea before then.
I'm expecting LP to be less entertaining than Disgaea simply because it preceeded it.
I found La Pucelle more entertaining than Disgaea simply because the combat system in Dis seemed designed to make things harder for you. Only 4 characters allowed in a combo with the percentage to help nonsense and the special attacks were much harder to aim (heck, some were impossible in Dis like Etena's spread out attack). I also found the story and characters more interesting and the geo streams fun to set up and let loose in La Pucelle. In fact, the only thing I really miss that's not in Phantom Brave is the geo streams, even if the story is the weakest of the three.
Furyfox, while Phantom Brave doesn't have jobs, there's not a single aspect of your characters or weapons you can't modify or customize. I think a job system would be just an unneeded restriction on that.
I guess I'm just hoping the characters have more skills/abilites than in Disgaea. You had a few spell choices and a bunch of melee characters mostly.
