Why does it say Jack of All Games is the publisher? Please tell me I'm not gonna get this game and pop it in and find out it's a motorcycle racing game or something.Quote:

It's cheap bastards like you that will make this game flop.
Yeah, maybe pricing it at $30 wouldn't up the likeliness of it doing well too much, but at least it'd have half a chance at making a dent. It'd probably sell twice as many copies, I'd wager. That might not be too much more profit taking into account the lower price per unit, but it would get the product in more people's hands. And that's what it should be all about.
People are cheap. People are more likely to buy things when priced lower. It's a fact, and it's time for publishers to come to terms with it.
Or maybe they realize that when they have a game with a small, built-in audience that will buy it, and few others that will ever realize it exists that they ought to make what they can off those few.Quote:

High prices do scare off potential customers. I only casually play SRPGs so I didn't buy Disgaea. Had the game been cheaper I would have picked it up.
I think one of the reasons RPGs stayed niche in the 16-bit era was because they were priced higher than other genres.
We're talking about the company that published Easter Bunny's Day off and Dirt Jockeys. Baby steps forward.Quote:

Yeah, but twice as many people would know who the hell Mastiff is.
Mastiff probably outsourced distribution.Quote:

I agree that cheaper games would be nice, but my rationale is that if I am going to pay 50 bucks for any games, then it will be this type of game, because the Ninja Gaidens and other games don't need my 50 bucks as bad as these smaller releases, so I get those once they are cheaper...plus I really want to play this game, so I won't be able to wait for it to come down and it most likely will just disappear, so I don't want to take that chance...
