Geez, I'm missing so many things today... NIS America just put up their website, too.

and that's almost as good as this one:

So, where can I get that extra +1 PURPLE?
Equip 2 Aid staffs or combine them for a more powerful one.Quote:

ANd thanks. Braveheart, here I come.
In the Dark World, how the hell do I kill enemies that are on floating islands apart from me? This isn't Disgaea; I can't throw. :(
I managed to get the tree down 1,000HP today. Few more hours of leveling and he's mine...if I don't run out of SP
I was wondering that myself...Do I need high level flying characters or what???
I got a 6,000+ bonus yesterday in a triple miracle in the Hall of the Dead and leveled my shizz up 10 levels ... Damn!!! I wish I knew exactly how I did that...
So I have my party of 4 main characters at level 16-17 now and that chapter 4 monster ain't so tough anymore, cause my skills and items are P.I.M.P. Once they are all at level 20, it's go time...his goddess blessing ability is making him heal like 150 pts every couple of turns, so I needz a little more power yet...
You can't kill those ones until you win the Warp Drive (+99 MOV, teleportation) by killing your first LV500 Demon Overlord and passing the exit.
The following is a bit more in-depth than the official guide... ;)
To get the Light Year cannon (infinite regular attack range) and Demon Overlord title:
Place at least a couple dozen requests at the RQ Shop for stronger monsters. The first floor of the Dark World (DEI 300) needs to contain monsters LV500+. Clear all 10 floors, defeating 20 LV500+ and a LV700+ Demon Overlord on a single pass (averaging 2 overlords/floor) to qualify for the second special Dark World ending. Alternatively, you may be required to defeat fewer Demon Overlords if the monsters on floor 1 are much stronger than LV500 (e.g. >LV700).
The ending:
Demons appear and surround Prier, Alouette, and Culotte. Culotte's jaw hangs open. A capricorn appears, hailing Prier as his lord. Prier calls it a joke, but Alouette tells Prier that she has chosen the wrong path, that this is "where we part ways," and that Prier is "drunk with power." Alouette and Culotte turn and walk away, deserting Prier. We get a second look at Prier in the attire in which she will appear in Disgaea. The bottom of the screen says, "To be continued...?"
Started playing this weekend and I'm having a great time. For some reason, I had skipped Disgaea, although I really like tactical rpgs of this kind.
Anyway, I was just wondering what was the best way to level up characters earlier in the game. So far, I've read that it's good to kill your allies for exp, but it feels kinda weird!
I'd just like to point out that when you move a character back on the initial blue square, you can bring them back in battle with full movement points. I know it's kind of trivial but it proved to be a useful technique when setting up the orientation of dark portals, since you can cancel your move command while keeping the orientation.
It's also good to hear they're planning on bringing Phantom Brave too.
Best tactics, IMO, is in the Dark World. :)
i beat chapter 3 today!
i'm slow...
Since you mentioned it, here's what the US boxart will look like:Quote:

I like it better than the normal edition art for the JP release, but not as much as I like the cover of the special edition.
Bah, I think that sucks.
Unrelated note: Final Chapter (12) !
I want Croix back! I spent ALL my time leveling the fucking dark prince. :(
That box art is rather slick. Much better than La Pucelle.
I've had my reserve on Phantom Brave for a few weeks now. I can't wait! I think it drops in August.
Woah, Rich. Chapter 12 already? I'm still on the Library mission, though I haven't been playing it as balls to the wall as you obviously have.
Last 2 weeks I've only put about 15 hours in, which is about an hour a day...I was at something like chapter 5 by the end of the first full 24 hours. :p I'm trying to get the game beat before I go to Missouri, friday morning.
Ah! I gotcha. Well, I'm jobless (sans the regular part-time job, but that's only 15 hours a week), and school's out, so I have much more time on my hands to hunker down and ace some games that I've been meaning to beat for a while now.
La Pucelle included.
this game pisses me off. i hate leveling. I dont understand all the item leveling/dark world crap (nor do i care to). and enemies kick my ass.
Kicked the whale's ass and am now on chapter 5. The trick is to build up your item multipliers, then go up in levels. Most of my guys are level 25+, but their item stats are off the hook...like X10+ everything...so I have a lot of extra weapons when going into battle.
I combined a lot of items and have some powerful stuff now, that have like 6-7 stat multipliers attached...this is a good way to level up also.
Actually, for now, the dark world isn't helping me much because I keep getting stages that I can't access since I don't have the warpdrive. I've had much more luck using the hall of the dead to build up items, killing my own guys for level building, and just fighting a lot in each current chapter for multiplier building...
I took a break and am going to level up for that tree guy in level 8.
I don't want to cheat too much, but I am worried that I am going to lose some of my characters some time here, but will I get them back is the big question? I hate when you don't have consistent character use throughout a game...
BTW: That PB cover -- does this mean Double Jump is giving us the PB guide? I hope so, the Disgaea guide had much more style than the La Pucelle one.
QUESTION: Are there any good fansites with artwork and wallpapers from NI games? I would like the get the artbooks down the road, but for now I want some good stuff for my desktop???
You only loose one character permanently, ss. I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. :p
I do believe that DoubleJump will be doing the PB book. Matter of fact, the only reason La Pucelle wasn't done by them is because the publisher was different: Mastiff instead of Atlus. ;)
What are you doing in the Halls of the Dead that's netting you so damned much XP?
Well I use hall of the dead for my item leveling, cause you can build huge streams in there, cause it's one nice big rectangle with lots of streams. The biggest one I've scored is 6,000+ bonus points and leveled up my items about 10 levels each in one shot...Quote:

Yeah, I'd love to send in my registration card and get the art book, but none of the damned stores in my area seem to have been restocked with this supposed re-release.
So, what you do is have the geo stream outline the entire stage or something, building combos that trigger eachother, or are you simply preforming seperate miracles with a single character and leveling up that way?
Yeah, you got it, though honestly it is still unpredictable for me how to consistently trigger huge miracles. What I do is actually set up the streams so that they will do triple miracles and what not. I use tons of change ups each time to help with this. I feed all the other streams into an outlining stream and position it so that it (hopefully) will go around and just peel off each elemental layer and cause miracles to keep happening. But a lot of times I get screwed and once a layer disappears, a gap appears and the stream can't complete itself again for another miracle...it's really unpredictable for me. But if that happens, or I miss a miracle, I just try and regroup and build another one...I put guys at each corner and use changeups to lock positions of streams inbetween, so that those enemy scumbags can't mess it up for me...Quote:

Only 6 hours till school is over.. wish me luck :S.
ss, I think the miracles will not combo unless there's a healing miracle inbetween every other offensive miracle.
This is something I'll have to try, though. High level weapons, here I come!
Picked it up, and am merely content, slower than I expected with the Battle animations. Plus theres this delay I'm having after a fight ends and when it displays XP, but those are just trivial things.
Converting is pretty cool, and least they point this out, I didn't know how to convert enemies in Disgaea :S
Great dialog, quite funny indeed :), I'm content :)
I'm sure I haven't even scratched the surface anyways.
That delay annoyed me at first also, but you can just press a button, and it'll go right to the tally screen.Quote:

What exactly happens with the dark world thing? I've just assumed that the random lvl 14 monsters I've had in the first map of the game, with a dark index of 48, was the "Dark World" resultant. Which... is not at all what I would suspect.
I find it funny being able to equip 4 staffs to one character. The whole item levelling is so nice it involved much less tedium than the item world. But jeez, setting up miracles is such a pain, especially damage ones because unless it's massive, the enemy just screws it up. I haven't even attempted a miracle chain yet, though it'd be easy enough in the first level.
Yeah.. got the bad ending to chapter 1, and I agree, it was bad :). Now, the survey goes into effect each time your customer rank goes up correct? Or does it go into effect next time you shop there?
Aloutte (spelled right?) is awsome :), but in truth Every character is awsome from the start, Nippon Ichi is perhaps my favorite developer. I noticed though according to the credits in the back of the book, Mastiff only had 4 people involved in the localization and Nippon Ichi actually did the rest itself with their own localization team. Is that usual?
The surveys are available immidiately after you buy something, but certain survey questions are completely random. Customer Rank determines what the shop the sells, to a certain degree.
If you are struggling with miracles, you'll find good tips in this faq
http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/f...le_miracle.txt
The pseudo bug allowing you to change the orientation of any dark portal on the map was particularly helpful. Sometimes an ennemy spawns on a dp and the new orientation totally screws up the energy flow and you're stuck with having to send someone to change the dp orientation...or simply leaving the battlefield and trying again.
I actually had a 3 miracle combo in chapter 3, fun stuff.
I also got to go to the dark world, answering my previous question, where I died on the 6th floor. Heh the one thing i hate about the monster training and sending to the darkworld... I don't want to get rid of them :(
Well what I meant was, does the effect of the survey come into play next time you shop there, or next customer rank?Quote:
