The pay-model Napster is coming 10/29

Well, looks like Napster is finally coming back this Wednesday, and the pricing structure is going to be like iTunes (99 cents a song, $10 an album). Has anyone been paying attention to it? I forgot they were doing this a while ago, but I saw it advertised on Yahoo and checked it out. I'm really glad Apple's pricing structure is becoming the norm now. I really wish they had more information on the new Napster though, pics of the program and whatnot, so I could see what it will be like, because they're giving you five free tracks for preregistering. Oh well, I won't have an iPod/Mp3 player for a while still, so I'll just see how each side pans out.

screw them. As much trouble as downloading things and getting what you want these days, its a crime to ask for money.

Even Nokia can honestly call this thing a failure in the making.

When people think of downloading music... they don't think of Napster anymore. It's Kazaa. The name means next to nothing now days. They MIGHT have stood a chance if they had got out the pay version fairly quickly after they got shut down (though this was virtually impossible back then).

But now, It'll be going down the shitter rather quickly I'd guess.

Well, I think Apple is pretty hard to match on an asthetic level, but this looks pretty decent.

I prefer the price I pay now. Nothing.

I posted kazaa is planning to make you pay for use on your phone bill. Better switch to somehting like grokster or bittorrent.

Just so you guys know, some people do want to do things the legal way. Me, I dont give a fuck, but thats the way it is. And plus its nice to just click on something and get a solid mp3/aac/whatever... nowadays with Kazaa or what not you have to admit, a lot of times you gotta download a song 3 or 4 times before you get one that sounds good and lacks skips, and bottom line that's a pain in the ass. Downloading a full album is a fucking pain in the ass, I dont care who you are or how l33t you think you are, it's a pain in the ass.

For a lot of people with disposable income and not a lot of free time, the 99 cents is worth it.

Jeremy, stop being stupid. I realize that's near-impossible for you but please try. iTunes Music Store ain't a failure, in fact it's probably the farthest thing from a failure that you can get... pay-for-music services will take hold soon enough, if they haven't already.

I hope pay for music never takes hold. If so it would make people who get it for free look that much more evil. I can see stupid yuppy people now. I get bused for downloading my random metal song and they will be like "Damn TNL bastard, why can't he pay Napster like the rest of us"
