I'm acquiring another car over the weekend. I hope to have pictures up shortly afterwords.
I'm sorry... but your focus is lame beyond belief
Yeah, true, but I don't feel like spending thousands of dollars to make it look pretty.Quote:

'00 civic si, tons of engine work, lowered, rims, expensive rubber, exhaust, the works (no rice)...
Got stolen from the person who bought it. They found the car a few days later totaly stripped and they were calling me to see where I had all the after market stuff done to see if their insurance will reimburse them for anything...
The insurance won't btw.
This is what I drive now:

And this is similar to what I'll be buying next summer:

Not sure if I want a vette or a gto (or gto clone) yet though.
What is the vehicle you drive now and gimme the run down on it (dependable, fair price, etc) if would please. I'm thinking of getting a small size SUV
2003 Honda CR-V.
I HATE suv's, but with a house, and a woman and a dog, and going to home depot and shit all the time it's pretty much a neccesity.
I didnt want to needlessly screw the enviorment, and I wanted great gas mileage, which is why I got the CR-V. 4cyl, I get 22ish miles to the gallon, 4WD for the winter, and for looking kinda small, it is huge on the inside.
My last two new cars have been hondas, and they've both been awesome.
2003 Saturn SL2
http://www.canadiandriver.com/testdr...0sl2_front.jpg
Just for round-town transport - nothing spectacular. I only drive about 4K miles a year. Reliable, good mileage, low cost of ownership...I'm happy with it.
builds charecter

Same thing, but mine is greyish black, has bigger tires on it, and has a hard top. From 1990, its old, stick shift, but its great for going offroad in my "out in the middle of nowhere" town.
Don't have it yet, but this is what I'm looking at getting.
Toyota Prius (w/ Hybrid Engine)

Or...Honda Hybrid

I used to drive a Jetta GT, which was a great car, but I am soooo happy I don't have a car anymore. Here's my new ride:
God I wish my city had a decent train system, or that I lived somewhere that had one. I'd love to get rid of my car.
Hey, that looks familiar, what station/where is that?Quote:

2000 Nissan Altima, white. Awesome car, never given me any problems, drives very smooth.

But I still one day want a Beetle convertible (plz don't ask why)

I got my parents '95 FORD Taurus. Hey..it was free and it takes me from point A to B. I'm saving up for a call..still dont know what to get. Honda Accord, Civic, Toyota Solara, Corolla S, Nissan Maxima or Altima.
I recently aquired a '99 Dodge Dakota SLT 3.9L V6, PDL/PW/AC, Red and Grey 2 tone, bit of a grandpa truck look to it, but I got it with low miles and Dirt Cheap.
Im still in the process of transfering my stereo over to it, as the process of figuring out how to get a system that fit perfectly in a big sedan to fit in a extended cab truck is a bit tricky. Just have my Pioneer Mp3/CDR head unit, Delphi Ski-Fi XM radio and Orion 6.5in component door speakers in at the moment.
That's what I was getting at...Quote:

I've got a 2000 saturn, the V6 sedan... I think it's an L series. Bought it off my parents this past summer. Comes with a pretty fair sound system standard... can't complain. It has a little go-power when traffic gets hairy, so I'm happy.
A very underrated car... A bit of a slug right off the line, but damn they could handle.Quote:

Cool car I parked next to in Torrance
Here's my '96 Civic EX amongst the great Buffalo snow storm of December 2001. It recently got the stereo stolen out of it overnight while parked in my own driveway so now I'm back to listening to the stock FM stereo until I can get a new head unit with an aux input so I can reconnect my Neo Car Jukebox.
I hate radio.

Very much like mine cept mine is silver, the 2 door model, and has different rims
its a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
fully loaded , leather, sunroof moonroof thing what ever you call it you know it slides open etc
I love it wish i could have afforded the GTP version that supercharger is nice
very happy with the car got it in september of last year
It's awesome.
I got a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon this past July. It's dark outside right now, so no pictures, but I got this one off the 'Net. Same thing, 'cept mine's black.
I love the car.. despite all the negative connotations associated with the word 'Hyundai', the car is solidly built, fast as hell and a blast to drive.
I tried to cut and paste a pic of my car from the official website but it didn't work. My 2003 black Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS is 3 weeks old. It sure beats the shit out of what i traded up from: a 1993 pontiac grand-am.
My mom got one of these 2 weeks ago. Acura RSX Type-S (the pic is a 2004, my mom got a 2003 and it has a spoiler, same color though). Looks awesome with the black interior and titanium finish, fast as fuck too. Great sound when you take it up to 7000 rpms.
Thats a sweet ass car. My girl might be getting it next year.Quote:

sell it while it still runs dude. I have a 95 Sebring coupe (same car, branded Chrystler) and it's the worst car i've ever owned. It hit 100,000 and fell apart. Much different than pretty much any Toyota or Honda which can hit 150,000 easy. I've replaced the whole brake system, transmission, the muffler is almost rusted off but the way it's built you can't just buy a new muffler, you have to buy a whole new exhaust sytem. The engine leaks oil all over the place, the suspension is completely shot. So uh, yeah, nice car while it lasted, but by far the worst car i've ever owned. No more Daimler Chrystlers for me.Quote:

Same goes for the suspension system, needs struts or needs all new bushings sway bars control arms...etc?
Pads, Rotors and struts are all wear and tear items, any car is going to need them replaced around 100K no matter what nameplate is on it.
And who told you that the entire exhaust needs to go if you change out the muffler? Its a freaking muffler, you cut the old one out and weld a new one in.
You sound like the victim of yet another crappy Chrylser dealership (which they have many) it up until the Daimler takeover was thier biggest problem.
I'd like to point out that the 2-door Avengers and Sebrings are built on Mitsubishi platforms - using mostly Mitsu parts ( chassis suspension, engine, etc. ) so you might want to blame it on them. A few months ago I got into an auto arguement on this very board - someone brought up that their mid-80's Chevy was a big peice of crap so they weren't ever going to buy another one. The "Chevy" was a re-badged Toyota....... alot of it comes down to maintenence issues. The Toyota might last awhile - but they're also going to tell you it needs "mandatory" maintenence that includes a top-end rebuild when you bring it in for it's pre-100K service - I've seen it time and time again. Alot of it has to do with the dealers - Volvo's have mandatory engine work too, it's gonna keep the thing running longer. But I can say that I've owned a few American cars that have gone over 200K without major engine work - I maintain them and have good luck with them and I will continue to buy cars built by American companies.Quote:

The brakes were more than just rotors and pads. I don't know all the things they had to do, but it was over $1000 between the front and rear. Suspension probably just needs new struts, but it's not worth putting them in the car. Right now i'm just running it till something big breaks and i'm junking it. 106,000 miles right now.Quote:

If i want another it's rediculously expensive. So i took it to my mechanic (honest and completely trustworthy, I've been going there forever) and they said pretty much the same thing. They did manage to fix a part of the exhaust that comes of the engine that was worn through with a few welds. It was a frankenstien fix but it's servicable right now. The way my muffler is worn makes the engine sound like i've done a lot of mods actually, it's always funny when people ask what i'm running.
The transmission place said i ran the car to hard, and thereby melted my transmission into pudding. But i've never had transmission problems with other cars. I don't race or anything, i drive fast but i wouldn't say i abused it. Still, it could have been my fault.
Ice, I love RX7's. Rotaries are nice.
My ride
That's an A6, correct?
I think it's a new A4. We just gave back my mom's 2000 A4 1.8T (see above for the pic of the RSX-S) because it was going to cost more money to keep it after the lease was up and the thing was too unrealiable. It would be fine for awhile and get into little fits of break downs, and then be fine for awhile (plus it was out of warranty so if anything broke we'd have to pay for it). When it ran it was a bad ass car though. But the Acura is like 80 bucks a month cheaper, faster, and covered bumper to bumper. I like the car more and more as time goes on (it's fucking fast man, it takes you by surprise and has an awesome sound. Built for the highway.).
OK. I dragged the webcam outside and took some pictures. Please excuse the quality.
The first one shows the fender that we all got drunk and kicked the shit out of one night.
Next is the back of the car. Note the muffler that is held on with rope.
Side view.
Question: Can you handle the sexiness of my paint job?
Answer: No.
My stereo is cooler than yours. Guaranteed.
A close up of the exhaust that shoots flames at high RPM shifts.
The drivers seat. Where all the magic happens.
edit: Don't try to stalk me with those license plates. You'll end up at my friend Rich's house, and he won't be amused.
WOW.
dyne is envious.....i want flames to shoot from my car!
Yeah, I was thinking that it looked a little stout for an A6.
Ice: It may not look the best now, but that baby has potential. How much money?
Two hundred American dollars.
Deal of the century. Even if the spedometer stopped working yesterday. :)
Fuck man.. That is one nice webcan you have... the quality is really good for a webcam.....
Oh, the car! Yeah it's awe some, the color is shit though (Yes, I know you plan a painting it). Best car ever for $200 though. :-)
Damn, for $300 I'd be all over that to use as a spare parts car.
Here's mine:
Nice car... looks kind of familiar.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/a...achmentid=5953
Okay...please. why???? I can understand if the stereo was stolen and the scumbags who did it trashed the dasboard when they ripped it out, but why the heck are the speakers on the dashboard?
Because the speakers in the car don't work.
Should take pics of flames coming outQuote:

I think those are shiny enough for me. My rims barely shine. What year is that Pontiac?
2003. got it the week the 2004's came out (5 grand in rebates) :( but really the years are identical. i think the only difference is that they have the gt branding on the doors as well where mine is only on the trunk. planning on getting a hood with scoops before the year is out since i already have the ram air.

What you really want is one of these. Running 14"ish rims, no radio, expired road tax, empty fuel tank (petrol is about $6 a gallon here) and a novelty number plate (as pictured).
Lady magnet guaranteed.
B..b...b... THE STEERING WHEEL IS ON THE WRONG SIDE ZOMG!11!
I'll get a pic of my actual ride in here pretty soon. It's my dream truck. However, I also have a dream car. I don't own it yet, but it looks exactly like the car in this here auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting
As a matter of fact, that particular one is so dreamy that I'm considering doing whatever it takes to own it. A heavy decision indeed.

I love BMW's, definitely my favorite manufacturer. The 3 series is pure sex.
My car has been updated with two hot ass mods.
The "no radio" mod, since 88mph-rich stole the radio back from me. He left me the speakers though... what a pal. :|
Also the super sexy "no licence plate" mod. Since the tags are expired.
Hopefuly by the weekend I'll have the "spedometer works" mod installed and ready to go.
Ehh more like the M series :nod:Quote:
