My big sister ruined Santa Claus for me, and there will probably always be a small part of me that is bitter about that.
The world is so borring these days, that or depressing.

I understand what you were driving at, man, but we're not talking about crusading in the name of the Christian God, or slaughtering the infidels in the name of Alah. We're talking about relegious parents excercising their parental rights to restrict their children's participation concerning certain holidays.Quote:

I don't know about King Arthur, but you are correct about the later. Have you ever read Holy Blood, Holy Grail? It's complete bullcrap, but it's an interesting read none the less.Quote:

Everything from the battle between the christian arthur with the pagan Mordred to the concept of the grail. I won't get into it here because its been a while, and it gets rather complex. But if your interested, just look around. There are tons of stuff out there that comment on it.Quote:

*ahem* Okay, first of all the ONLY person to have ever entered heaven without dying was Enoch and even then he was translated into the spirit. He did not enter as flesh and blood. Secondly, just where exactly did this asinine idea come from? Certainly not from God. Mary was a woman, blessed to be sure, but a normal woman and nothing more.
Actually, the bible says that God took Enoch, possibly to keep him from suffering at the hands of violent opposers. It says nothing about transfering him to heaven. And in John 3:13 it says that no man has ascended into heaven, so that would make enoch going to heaven impossible.
And to all the people who think there is nothing wrong with celebrating a holiday even though it came from pagan rituals, remember that God punished the Israelites whenever they got involved with pagan rituals, even though they claimed they were doing "in the name of God." I'm not going to judge you, to each his own. But to those who think people are stupid for not celebrating halloween or other holidays for religious reasons, who do you think you are? I don't call you ignorant, misled jackasses because you don't care to do any research to see if what you believe is correct or not.
And if you think kids are deprived because they don't get to celebrate halloween, I feel sorry for you if that is that big of a highlight in your life. I celebrated halloween until I was 8 when we changed religions, and I didn't miss it then, and I sure the hell don't miss it now. I've experienced things 100 times greater than even the best halloween I've ever had. And if I could relive it, I would do the same thing again.
And how would Halloween have interfered with whatever else you experienced?
Yeah, stupid people having fun with their friends when they younger, how dare they wish the same on children of today! I too hate good memories.Quote:

Frankly, while i agree with every word you said up to this point(we will discus the other points at another time  ) i am amazed you are wasting your time with this. In regard to religious tolerance, tnl is the biggest bunch of hypocrits ever, and i got bored fighting that fight a while ago. the bottom line is, you do what you think is right, and if a bunch of people want to mock you because you are thinking outside the maistream, then good for you. As i said, halloween means nothing either way to me, but calling people assholes becasue they dont act the way that you do, thats very good, herd minded behavior.Quote:
