So who's interested? I'll probably pick this one up even though I own both games for the Dreamcast. Has anyone seen some good pic's of the 3-D backgrounds for 2001? I'm curious how they'll turn out.

Wait...are those games even good? I haven't played them, and everyone tells me KOF 98 was the pinnacle.
If this is priced higher than $29.99 then I'm passing entirely. I already own both DC versions and I stopped caring about these two games over a year ago.
$39.99, both are good, but I liked 2000 a little better. Dreamatch is still my fave though.

Well in my opinion, KOF 98 IS the best KOF game there is. That doesn't mean that the others aren't still good.Quote:

I just got the preview code for these today (both 2000 and 2001). It looks remarkably good on the PS2, and the press release says there are exclusive modes ("Memory Mode" - players get access to opening movie demos from previous KOF's) and new strikers which haven't been seen in arcade/home versions before.
Voices are entirely Japanese. I've only played it for a short while. KOF is venerable and the games certainly aren't as fresh as Guilty Gear. But, dammit, this is a historical series and both games play well. I think the $39.99 is a fair price tag.
BTW - the pic for the cover is also the pic for each disc that I got (the released version might be the same, I dunno)
