I hope the people you know who are victims of rape understand there is a distinction between violence/sex (or mixed together violence mixed with sex) in a videogame, and real rape. (violent or non-violent rape. It's still wrong: yes we know this.)
I'm sure most people here are perfectly normal and can see that: the indiscrinmnate violence allowed against anyone of any race and of any sex and of any group(political, religious, moral); within this game, (because you need to be violent by the nature of engaging in combat using weapons to fight) has nothing to do with what a rapist targeting women in particular, or murderers, criminals or truly insane people in the real world, who get pleasure in real life doing thier acts.
It's a bit silly to make that judgment (of a person's mental state)that people are 'messed up' and need help because they laugh at something tasteless they saw on tv or what they did in a videogame with no real consequences. It's like the censorship thing in GTA where they removed the prostitutes because the player could kill them and take thier money back (you could do this with anyone in the game), or the removal of the chics (Roxy and Poison) in US versions of Final Fight. There is no message of violence targetted against a specific group, sex, religion etc.
I would laugh at a lot of tastless things I see (on tv, videogames, any actions done by fictional characters) with the comfort of knowing my mental state was perfectly normal in real life and that I engage with many real members of the opposite sex without any problems. As I'm sure many people here do.
I know your intention is to be sensitive to the victims (that shows a lot of maturity, I respect that) but at the same time you didn't need to get judgmental and insulting and say somebody is messed up and should stay away from women to make yourself look good.
Obviosly violence isn't good no matter who it's done to in real life. If it was a murdered man lying naked on the ground it would still not be ok in real life.
God forbid anybody laugh at anything...Quote:

Which is a tactful way of saying you people laughing at that have problems, stay away from real women until you work it out, please.

Maybe I missed something- the caption was about sexual violence. She wouldn't let him in her bed, he killed her. So it's not specifically rape, I still don't find it funny. I'm not going on a crusade, but unlike going on a rampage with a flamethrower in GTA3, this doesn't hit my sense of humor at all. Leaves me totally cold.
Klonoa is the one who had a sig pic of a guy grinning evilly over an unconscious, topless woman. You could make out the nipple in the shot, it was in the lower left. I could come up with things he might do that didn't involve something really tasteless (note I didn't say rape) but it'd be a stretch.
So, to clarify- tossing a bomb into a crowd in GTA3? No problem, all sorts of fun. Sniping anything that moves? WooHoo! Singling out prostitutes... Why? I'll shoot the hookers fine, but why would I single them out?
And one of the people I knew was a total psycho, she was my roommate. Ugh, that was a mistake. Totally screwed up past mixed with an ability to aim for the bottom and hit it every time. It takes a lot to make me not care about someone (I can like, dislike, hate, etc. pretty easy) but she managed it. So long as she's gone, I'm fine. Whatever she's getting herself into is 100% self inflicted. Which doesn't mean that I don't think the people doing it to her shouldn't die on the spot and clean the gene pool.
And though sensitivity isn't my strongest suit, I'm really more into being caustic to the perpetrators. Ex-roomie there lived to be a victim, which is why I'm not sympathetic.
Hmm... That's a lot of text for "not going on a crusade", and I was going to keep going for a ways. In summation- Violence against women because they're women isn't funny. Violence against anything that moves- funny! :)

I see where you're coming from. But you are over-analyzing things.Quote:

 is not grinning evily.
 this is grinning evily.
And you can make out the nipple? You perv. Damn, I might have bad eyes because I do not see the nipple, honestly, I didnt even think she was naked in the pic.
Im guessing most people arent offended by the pic, or by my response to the pic, but obviously you are, so I apologize for putting the "guy evily grinning" smiley in there.
That scene and any scene in GTA3 is basically the same to me.
btw, Too late, I have come in contact with many real women.
You didn't see the nipple? It's right there, how can you miss it? :)
"Grinning evilly" referred to the guy in the sig pic, by the way.
And lest anyone think I'm "sensitive", I laughed my ass off at this, taken from the ever-tasteful rotten.com-
"A newly delivered baby fell through a train toilet as it was being born near the city of Guangzhou, China. After the fall a second train sped over the newborn. The baby was safe, but radio reporters were reprimanded for their hysterical laughter while reporting the story."
Now that's comedy gold!

Wandering way off the Morrowind topic, which I'm about to go play in a second, but-
Klonoa, didn't you have the sig pic of the black and white drawing of the guy, grinning evilly (no other way to describe it) over the woman, kind of looked like Rob Liefield art? Head shots of both of them,f or the most part? I know somebody had it, I thought it was you. Sorry if it wasn't...
Morrowind time! :)

If people are waiting for the xbox version like I am and want to see this game in motion gamespot has a dozen movies or so of gameplay and it looks awesome. They show the weather system, character creation, fighting, magic, shopping and talking to NPC's. It's great stuff.

Good Night! Persecute me for that one picture of a girl laying on the floor because I couldnt use her bed (Note, nowhere in my original post did I say WITH HER) Also notice that there were several males that were attacked too.... Sheesh. I got some people in here saying keep doing the funny screenshots then we have the analysts who just cant grin and bear it....it's all in good fun
