Nice for those who missed out, I have em all but Vagrant Story, they are in my pile of shame, anyways I'd expect the originals non greatest hits to retain some of their value.

Holy shit, Xenogears!?
It's like FFT all over again.
Well after Xenogears was discontinued, there was a second printing, with that said it was still somewhat hard to find.
That's pretty cool for people who missed out on them, definately pick up Vagrant Story that is a great game IMO :)
I wonder in Final Fantasy Anthology will come with the Music CD... I'm thinking it won't, not for a budget re-release :\
I never got around to picking up those FF collections, well I guess i will now. :)
This is excellent. Vagrant Story's been safe from eBay insanity (ironic, given it's the best game there), but the other three have been getting pretty bad. Anything that helps to meet demand so that games don't reach ridiculous prices on the secondhand market is a good thing.
Wait a second... a company actually observes that their old releases are in demand and re-releases to capitalize? What the fuck is going on here? A game company is acting smart - that's not supposed to happen.
I already have all those PSX games, but neither of the PS2 ones. I may pick them up now, or ask for them for Christmas or something. $20 for a 50-hour RPG ain't bad.
Cool. I'll definitely buy Xenogears to try it out.
Looks like I'll have to hock three of those, while the getting is good.
Vagrant Story? Interesting. I would think Xenogears would, but I didn't expect it to be demanded enough to warrant a re-release. But hey, it was a fun game for me. I just hated you your weapons did like 2 damage each time you attacked.
Oh, and burguny, who's that in your avatar? I see that guy floating around a lot in people's avatars and never found out who he was or where he was from.
It's Grit from Advance Wars.
One cheap bastard in Fog of War maps. :yuck:
I literally just bought Final Fantasy Anthology for almost full game price DAMN IT
The opening cinema of Vagrant Story was incredible. It didn't hold my attention for much longer after that.
Xenogears, on the other hand, is awesome.
I'm still waiting for Square to stop sucking this generation.
Xenogears and Vagrant Story are both must-play games. Unlike many more typical RPGs you can't really predict if you'll like them before playing them.
Xenogears is more story than game but its story is unlike anything else ever made. Whether you love or hate the game rides on this aspect.
Vagrant Story I played for a while but eventually decided it wasn't for me. Japanese-made dungeon crawls that happen to be more complex in customization than most Western RPGs are a rare thing.
You got a long way to go, it's hard for them to stop something that they haven't started yet.Quote:

Rare and older titles getting re-released so long after their time is another good byproduct of the PS2's backwards compatibility. This would never have happened if there wasn't a market for these titles on a current-generation system.
mmmm.. ill think about picking up Xenogears and Vagrant Story.
now if only theyd re-release Valkryie Profile. cant find it anywhere. :(
Up until about six months ago, VideoGameDepot has $27 NEW copies of Valkyrie Profile. They were on the site for months and months before that... Funny how stuff gets rare all of a sudden though. When you can't find it at one place, soon you can't find it anywhere.
So you are saying that you enjoy The bouncer, driving emotion type 2, and unlimited saga? Dude, they suck.Quote:

Square was my 2nd favorite developer for awhile. They are so incredibly far from that position now. I don't see how its possible to think that they don't suck now compared to 5 years ago. They keep releasing old games in hopes that it diverts attention away from the crap that is their current games, but they aren't fooling me.
I hope they get their act together and make another stellar Chrono game.
I'll have to grab Xenogears.
Vagrant Story was a cool game. I thought Sydney was such a bad-ass.
This isn't the first time Square has observed this... Final Fantasy Tactics went greatest hit at it's pinnacle of rareness, it seems, and that re-release of Xenogears came out around the same time as well. I don't buy that whole "mis-placing" excuse, it's more or less they printed a bunch of new copies for full retail value.Quote:

Besides, the other ones didn't really have much value, they could all be found for around 30-40 bucks, and new copies of Anthology and Chronicles showed up at EB about 2-4 so months ago.
Now, if only that rumor of FF 3 and Legend of Mana 2 getting translated and brought over in one package is true, I'd finally own every FF in the entire series. If this is becoming a trend for companies, someone let me know when Suikoden 1 or 2 will ever go greatest hits, so I can unload mine on Ebay real fast
