My brother recently got his hands on a credit card, so now we can buy shit from overseas! I figure its time for us to update our DC collection. I have a list of shit to get already, but I want more! Are these DC games any good?

out of that group Headhunter is the best however it can be found easier and cheaper on the PS2.
MDK2 is also very good.
Heavy Metal Geomatrix and Outtrigger are decent.
Some People like EGG and compare it to Zelda. I personally felt that the graphics were good but the game was way to hard, you die so easily
get Mars Matrix.

Maken X - Very average action game. It only really stands out because of its cool character designs and the fact that first-person melee action games are rare.
Heavy Metal Geomatrix - Better than Spawn before it. It's a pretty good fighting game if you're into the free-roaming Power Stone-type stuff.
MDK2 - I personally think MDK 1(PC version) is a much better game. The non-Kurt levels in MDK2 are frustrating and often boring. Overall, the game is decent though.
Outtrigger - Is this even playable online anymore? If not, I wouldn't buy it. It was a decent online deathmatch FPS. It's no Unreal Tournament or Quake but it's fun although the maps are too small and constricted.
Headhunter - Not bad if you're into stealth action/adventure games but I lost interest quickly for some reason.
Gunbird 2 - I would recommend it to any shooter fan; it doesn't really do anything wrong.
I had quite a bit of fun with Geomatrix, great music, nice graphics, so-so control.
How about 7th Cross? I've seen it around for about $4.
Hmm, says something about a game if even at $4 you hesitate.

I've played this one for a half hour or so. A sci-fi Zelda clone. The boss battles are in 3D. It doesn't seem like anything spectacular, but if you can get it cheap, you might as well.Quote:

Outtrigger - If you want a DC FPS game stick with Quake 3.
Headhunter - I only played the PS2 version, it's an okay game, it could've been great but a lot of stuff holds it back.
Gunbird 2 - I couldn't get into this one. I didn't like the 3d look of the game. The way the camera swung around and stuff yet my ship remained static made me feel as if my ship was sliding around on a sheet of glass.
Maken X- Pretty good game. Quite a unique combat system, kind of a 'first person slasher' heh. It has good music and decent story. I'd say its worth buying for its originality although the combat can get clunky.
Heavy Metal Geomatrix- Awesome game, me Dacaz, Despair and others have hyped this game alot but its very fun. I like it alot more than Spawn and its sort of a mix of VOOT+ Spawn. Music is kind of cheesy but in a good way sort of like the Guilty Gear music.
Elemental Gimmick Gear- Decent RPG, I got very bored of it but I haven't played it ALOT. The 3D battles suck ass but the rest is nice.
MDK 2- Another awesome game. I liked all 3 characters, especially Max since he's pretty badass. Great music too, I especially like Max's 2D avoid the boulder's level. The game is damn funny too so I'd say its an instant purchase. It can get pretty challenging later though.
The Ring (I doubt its good, but still!)- Eh don't waste your time.
Seventh Cross- Nothing special same as above.
Outtrigger- The controls can get pretty complicated since every button does something. Its nice for an arcadey game but unless you can get your friends really into it, you can spend your money better elsewhere.
Headhunter- Pretty good stealth/action game although same as NeoZeed, I stopped playing like a couple of hours into it. I'll finish it one day. It has an amazingly good score on par with Rygar and has some Robocop type humor with the news casts.
I'd recommend you get it on PS2 though because aside from the VGA mode its better on that system with some improvements and better control. Its also $20 on PS2.
Gunbird 2- Great shooter but tough as a motherfucker. Very much worth a purchase and real fun on multiplayer. Good luck with the later levels :/
Geomatrix is good ONLY if you play arcade mode...
Gunbird 2 is excellent, and it supports TATE, but not VGA (without tricking your DC)
Maken X is very good. As is Elemental Gimmick Gear and Gunbird 2. The rest I don't know. Check out Mars Matrix if you like shooters. It's a beautiful game. One of the best. Also, Seaman might provide you with quite a good time. I know I enjoyed it. Bangaioh is a must. Just grab anything on DC that you can. Such an amazing system.Quote:

Maken X is okay, but the lack of in-level save points really hurt it. I still found it fun for awhile...

I think I'm done with this one. It was an OK first person shooter for the opening few levels, but soon it gets frustrating and there are no in-level checkpoints or save opportunities! Inexcusable. But the sloppy execution is killing this game for me. You can't look around freely while moving, for one thing. And nonstop hand-to-hand combat in a FPS gets old after awhile too. Couldn't they let you brainjack somebody with a gun once in awhile?
-One of my favorite picks for an underrated Dreamcast game is Demolition Racer: No Exit.
I've got a review of it in that same Gaming Report column. The perfect combination of racing action and requiring you to also smash the Hell out of your opponents along the way to first place really sets that game apart in a cool class of its own.
Maken X was okay, Heavy Metal Geomatrix is good fun with alot of metal cheese, and Gunbird 2 is a really good shooter.

I've been dying to find a copy of Headhunter. Always wanted to give that game a shot, as the DC screens of it always amazed me. Don't get me started on the Shenmue games...
I think HEadhunter was sorely overrated by game-starved DC holdouts. It was ok, but not great. A mishmash of elelments, none of which were done especially well.
Does DC headhunter have those annoying load screens from the ps2 version?

Yep, the only differences between PS2 Headhunter and DC is the PS2 version has longer loading and more dead bodies in the mall level. Strangely it still has the glitches of the DC version despite coming out later.Quote:

I found Headhunter to be enjoyable for what it was. I hated the motorcycle control though, ack.
I also loved Winback, I had more fun with it than with MGS. Anyone know how the PS2 version compares to the N64 one?

Another "don't miss it" vote for MDK2. While Kurt's levels are certainly the best, Max's & the Doc's make for nice variety and challenge. To this day, it's a DC favorite of mine.
Also try and track down the Japanese import Cosmic Smash - a futuristic, stylish mix of Breakout and Virtua Tennis.
I'd just like to add that I think MDK 2 is useless. I didn't enjoy a moment of it.
I love MDK2, but I reccomend the PC version over the DC one, since you can save anywhere, there's multiple difficulties, and some puzzles are less cryptic.
MDK 2 is an exceptional game, get it.
I also recommend Tokyo Extreme Racer 2, that is if you like racing:) I bought a DC just for that game!
