Google isn't being much help, nor is http://www.doom9.org/ with this.
So.
I have some .VOBs that I need to convert for use in Final Cut Pro. I've been able to convert them into .AVI files, but Quicktime does not recognize them because of some kind of 'DX50' format issue.
So. Does anyone know of any program that converts .VOBs straight to .MOV files? Or .AVI to .MOV? Or does anyone know of a codec that will let me play these .AVIs in Quicktime?

Install defilerpak. It's probably a codec issue. Why do you need to play them in quicktime?Quote:

Also, use XviD for encoding. In virtualdubmod, there is an option for DX50 B-VOP capability. There's no reason to use an mpeg-4 codec other than XviD, so i don't know about DivX 5 or whatever you're using.

I need to use Quicktime because all of this stuff is going to be brought from a PC to a Mac for viewing / editing [in Final Cut.]
Hmm... these codecs don't seem to have any effect on Quicktime... I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong...
Anyway, yea... What I specifically had to rip was Battle Royale for a school project, believe it or not. I have to make some kind of music video. We'll see how it goes.
EO Video is a good program, but it doesn't output to .mov as far as I know, it will convert to .mpg format if that is any help... I'm not sure if it uses .vob extensions ether since I don't have any of those, but I know it converts a lot of different formats :)

What version of Final Cut Pro are you using?

The Dx50 problem is common amongst many inferior players, not this one.
I don't have a program that converts them, since I don't do video editing ever but BS player along with Win Media Player and Quick Time are all I have ever needed in the way of playing movies.
It's Final Cut Pro ver. 3.

I'm on the brink of losing my mind this very week... Now I need an AVI editor. Something simple... all I need to do is cut out excess crap. If anyone finds anything good, please let me know.
