There is the possibilty of Home Movies coming back as a CN show, its production is dirt cheap, and its done by a lot of the same people who did Dr. Katz so they know how to do a show on a Cable channel budget.
I never liked home movies when it first aired, I think I saw a couple of Eps when it was on UPN (or WB on of those crap networks) and hated it.
But seeing it on CN and Teletoon, I now know how good it was.
I'm sure they could get the whole cast to come back too. MacFarlane for sure obviously, so you have Peter And Stewie. I have a feeling they could get Seth Green back for Chris, as he hardly said anything throught the shows, and he could probably come in and do all his lines in one day, for many episodes rather quickly. Alex Borstein was a big part of the series the first time around.. so I'm guessing she'd come back on board. Only one I could see not coming back in Mila Kunis. But she has such a common sounding voice.. she'd be easy to replace (Like Kunis replace the first Meg). And there you have it.
They were talking about doing more episodes just for DVD, but getting it back on air would be pretty amazing. Man, 2005? Talk about a gap between new episodes. I'd be nice to see Fox suck it up and foot the bill to get it going. They better promote the shit out of it.

I remember hearing that the volumn 1 set of Futurama sold pretty well. The biggest problem is that the cost of producing new episodes is pretty high (mostly because of the CG work). So the odds of Cartoon Network ordering new shows is really slim because they're on a tight cable budget. While as a show it's fairly expensive, movie wise it's dirt cheap to make.
Matt Groening has expressed interest in the idea of making a futurama movie. That would be so awesome.
Futurama season 3 boxset is the best. My copy is fucked up though :( . I can still watch it on the computer though.

Are the Futurama shows in order on the volume DVDs? 'Cause usually they'll Use the "Season" instead of "Volume" when they're in order (Family Guy of course uses the "Vol." handle,cause it has two season on Vol. 1). So short question: Why does the DVD sets of Futuama use the "Volume" handle?
That threw me off as well, I almost didn't buy Futurama Vol 1t until I found out that Volume 1 actually meant Season 1.

See, the tricky thing with Futurama is that it was pre-empted so much that episodes from Season 1 ended up being aired as Season 2 episodes, and Season 2 as Season 3, and so forth. The situation grew so badly that episodes built up in such stock that the Futurama series just ran out of new episodes about 6 months ago. (even though it was cancelled in 2001 or something like that.
So it's a mess, blame Fox.

what they actually have to do ... is wait till Football season is over. They can never deliver on a 7pm est timeslot. They can for the West Coast ... but for peeps on the Atlantic .. nope. If they did bring back that awesome show on Fox, bring it out in February. ORRRR put it on the FX Network. That would be wiser, cause then they can go full blast.
If you both read that interview I posted.... Seth MacFarlane himself says that Family guy just wouldn't be as good if they did it for cable. The budget differences for a network as opposed to a cable station is HUGE. So really. You should be hoping for it to come to Fox. I sure as hell know I am (despite what they did with it first and second times around).
I'd just hope that Fox would learn it's lesson from it and not push it's time slot all over the place and then go "well, it's not doing well because people lost interest." If people knew when the fuck it was going to be on there would never have been a problem. At least every so often I see a Futurama on CN I've never seen before. And why the hell do TV show DVDs get released overseas like 6 months before the US gets them? It's freaking insane how long we have to wait.

The 2 Simpsons episodes sucked. Family Guy was just ok. American Dad or whatever sucked terribly.

Does anybody have any numbers for last weeks show? I'm encouraging everybody I come in contact with to tune in every Sunday to keep the show going. I heard something like 13 million (!?!) viewers last week.

Agreed, I was worried that the first episode would be a blockbuster then those that followed would fall flat, but the FG team really showed they still got it tonight.
