This is great news as I look to move my older consoles out of the RF fuzz phase.

Hey, that's cool :) Atari S-Video mods have been knows for ages, but it's great that somebody's finally made it into an easy-to install PCB.
Kind pricy, though - wonder if there's a cheaper place to buy it?
I got this info at Atari Age, I havent seen anyone else with a premade mod such as this one...
Why and why?
(edit: nevermind, after actually clicking the link and checking it out I completley see the purpose of this)
(edit 2: holy crap, after the comparison pictures I can even more see why this is useful)
Silly question, go look at the comparison pics then come back..Quote:

Not even the same, and from someone on this site where we are known to be anal about such things as image quality im shocked to hear such replies.Quote:

Such reply's confuse me, this is a great thing and a HUGE improvement...
what's the difference? and what's wrong with putting a spoiler on a pinto?

Im assuming you are young enough not to have grown up with a 2600 and therefore the graphics are below you.
Would you appreciate s-video or somposite video on your PSOne or N64 if it only came with RF?
Same difference here, I grew up with the 2600 and still play it so this is something I want..
i'm 22. the 2600 was my first system ever.
anyway, i have s-video for all my systems which do not require a mod for s-video. plus, i would mod my turbo duo for s-video if it wasn't so expensive to do so. the thing with the 2600 (and the NES for that matter) is that the graphics aren't all they great to begin with. so while s-video would clear up the picture a lot, it still doesn't matter to me since i think the graphics are crappy anyway. like i said, it's like putting a spoiler on a pinto. it'll look a little better but if the car is looking crappy already, it really won't matter. just my opinion, of course.
ps - actually, i had my neo geo modded for s-video.
Well, of course it wont make the graphics any better but I prefer to be without all the uneeded fuzz...
Removal of fuzz and a clear, sharp picture are reasons enough..
Where?Quote:

you can go to !arcade! at www.neogeousa.com, or you can ask around on the neo geo forum at www.neo-geo.com. there are a few guys there who can do it.Quote:

This device is pretty nice, but I don't feel like messing up my good old 2600. I do have a busted up one though, but at $50 I'd more than likely shy away from this product.
thats awesomeness i have a 2600 not sure if it works if it does i may have to do this to it
I did the S-vid mod myself a while back, very easy and worth the trouble.
So....

ANYTHING can be improved. So I guess it IS like putting a spolier on a Pinto.
My question is this though, does the Stereo mod do anything? Are any of the games coded for it or does it only benefit Homebrew software.
I totally believe that the picture will be sharper, but the color on the before pics are totally not believable.Quote:

OMG his skin looks yellow on that t.v but OH MY GOD ITS FUCKING TAN ON THAT ONE...
Umm...OK. I used to work at Circuit City in the Video department for two years while I was in college. I'm not an idiot...
So are you basically saying that what the picture show is the "default" setting and not the "best possible" adjusted setting?
cool shit. but really im with vid. im 25 and the 2600 was also my first system and i remember my games looking a helluva lot better than those before shots. but i know what you mean jmet, i HATE when people look at tv's in a store and comment on the quality not knowing the colors are
1 not adjusted right
and
2 the feed is splity between all 10,000 sets on display
The screenshot looks like it's fake, but not inaccurate. I remember having crazier stuff than that happen with my Atari games - weird colours popping up where they weren't supposed to, strange rainbow fuzz, etc.Quote:

Its almost worth it...I still have my VCS from 1979...I could dust it off and enjoy TURMOIL again!
Exactly. I used to work in video at Circuit City when I was in college...you know what I gained from that? When I shop for a TV, I know to ask, "Can I get a dedicate DVD player hooked up to this?" before I would ever think about buying.Quote:
