Then how could you say that RR owns Daytona? That's like saying Mortal Kombat owns Street Fighter.
Because I like the Ridge Racer series better.
And when I compare the first games in both series, I like Ridge Racer a hell of a lot more than Daytona.

Then that would be more like IMO, because Ridge Racer was always Daytona's bitch. Poor controls and one track, yeah that's a great racer.
Rolling Start can only be appreciated if heard, truly one of the greatest (horrible) songs ever.
I personally haven't played enough Daytona to say anything at all about it (literally a few minutes), but I do remember enjoying RR4. And finding it insanely easy...
i absolutely LOVE Daytona and the joy-joy feelings the music evokes, but not even Daytona can quite match the Ridge Racer series overall, for me. Not quite. But then again, I find R4 to be the worst RR in the series so... :P And whether you like it or not, it's still the most un-RR game in the series.
While I thought Ridge Racer was a better looking racer on the consoles, I just could'nt understand what all the hype was about. After playing Daytona in the arcades and on Saturn, I found the control of the car in Ridge Racer to somewhat unrealistic. You'd let off the gas, and when you hit the gas the car would start fish tailing all weird.
RR just lacked the realistic control compared to games like Daytona, Sega Rally and Sega Touring Car. Gran Tourismo on the other hand, got it all right and then some.
I don't really think this is a fair fight.
Besides, Scud Racer is better than Daytona.

Would that game be what we called Sega GT in the arcades, here in the US? I've heard many European gamers talk so highly of Scud Racer, but had never seen it in the arcades here.
until RR is playable online (and i refer to the Saturn Daytona...not the horrible DC rev) it will always be in the "ass up...im yo bitch" position. besides...Hornet is just a damn cool name.

Would that be CCE or the first Daytona offering on the Saturn. I always preferred the control and sound of the first Daytona over CCE. I find CCE and the DC version to control fairly similar to each other.
