I think we'll be seeing lots of ports onto PS2, and lots of releases on the other two. I think SEGA will make their money on PS2 but I don't think they will release games first on it. Name all the games that Sega developed that dropped on PS2 first. Virtua FIghter 4 (But they would have rather released on another console). I think they'll support it, but begrudgingly.

There's a good reason for that. My earlier post was intended sarcasm to prove that point. The best platform should be chosen for each and every game (not just Sega's). No game should be ported, and none should be developed to the lowest common denominator. The GameCube clearly is where Sega feels Sonic belongs, thus, that is where he should stay.

It seems like some of you want Quanity over Quality, yelling that certain big titles should be multiplatform. Thats just a stupid idea if you ask me. Sure it will make the game more available, but it only hurts the game it self. If you want the best possible game you NEED to make it exclusive to one system. Its all about tapping into each of the systems aspects that the others just don't have, or are better at doing. And Sega seems to be relising that, I can guarantee that you will never see JSRF and Gunvalk on Cube or PS2 because they were made for the Xbox, and only the Xbox, it would only hurt the game to have to dumb it down in certain areas to get it onto another system. That would be the same if the game was made for Gamecube or PS2, that it if the tax the system so it can no longer be ported. The games are better if they are made so that its impossable to port, its just common sense.

Do the words "recent financial trouble" mean anything to you people? SEGA went mulit-platform for a reason. As long as the original game is maximized for whatever platform it's released on, why does it matter if another console gets a crappy port of it? "It won't be ture to the nature of the original!!!" So what? That's the kinda crap that got them in trouble in the first place.

SEGA needs the money. Ports are cheap and easy. This is elementary.

Well I just read that JSRF will be ported to PS2 at http://www.segaweb.com/news/1001/005.html I think this is a very poor idea by Sega. Because there is no way this game will look this good on PS2, and if it does expect monsterous Load times. Plus doesn't JSRF stream off the Hard Drive because the load times would be so bad if they had to stream it off the disc? I am betting this will be a poor port.

The only reason Crazy Taxi went to the other consoles was that deal Sega made with Acclaim. Hitmaker had nothing to do with it, as far as I know.

Seeing how they're probably my favorite team, they better stay with the X-Box. I wouldn't mind seeing Virtual On: Force on the GameCube or X-Box, but a PS2 port? Ung.

I actually kinda disagree with you here. As much as I prefer the other two consoles, VO is the sole game in existance (outside of Ape Escape and MGS) that could actually use the DualShock effectively. Think about the placement of the analog sticks, they're right next to each other, lined up, just like mini-Twin Sticks. Especially since VO4 is four-player, that would mean that to actually get a four-player split-screen VO4 going on, you won't have to buy four pair of Twin Sticks to offer good control. I rather think it's perfect in that regard.

Saint of Killers: It was more about keeping the hardware alive then keeping software alive (which were tied into each other) that drove Sega down. The amount of people who think Sega creates bad games are very few, and they will sell. They didn't before because of the system they were on, ports will help them financially, but I'd rather only have access to a handful of excellent games that work well with the specific controls then I would a lot of decent ones that are forced to conform to the lowest systems abilities. With them multiplatform, they'll sell on all fronts, and they don't have to use that money to keep the system alive, it goes right to making more games.

It seems to me that SEGA is spreading out their games really well so far. the only thing that has dissapointed me is the amount of ports, but I don't blame them much because they did make some great games that didn't sell well because they were on the DC.

I'm having a tough time getting excited about SEGA's upcoming stuff. I'm more excited about virtua fighter quest than anything, but that won't even be out this year. a new sonic gamecube game would be great, and i'm sure it'll happen, but not anytime soon. same with skies of arcadia 2. and im not that exited about a panzer shooter. I would have much prefered another saga game. im trusting that SEGA will suprise us with a few games that come out of nowhere, kinda like what rez or cosmic smash did. i guess the age old phrase "wait till e3" applies here as well. and Mr. SEGA, if you're listening-no closed booth this time!

Actually, I've heard this many times. Personally, I would hate to use those analog sticks to emulate the completely digital Twinsticks, much like I hate using the Dreamcast's analog stick for any fighting game. Using the four buttons in combination with the D-pad and shoulder buttons, on the other hand would, be a decent way to control Force. Either way, me and most of my friends would probably buy a "pair of" Twinsticks, no matter the price.

I would rather see it on X-Box because I feel that Microsoft would "treat it right", so to speak. Not only that, but I think that a port of Virtual On: Force to the PS2 would be worse than the fairly accurate VOOT DC port. As I said, I would end up with Twinsticks either way, as long as they would be released.

Finally, while I'm really not sure, Force would most likely have online play on the X-Box. In all honesty, I don't care about online play too much, but after I found out how VOOT is played by most people, I felt everyone would learn a thing or two from online play.
