The older Cherokee wagons were tough as nails. My friend was on a ice covered hill and rammed into a cheap ass car. The bumper did'nt even have a dent in it. One of my friends had a Jeep CJ-4 and was crossing a river with it. The only reason it died, was because he knocked the oil pan off the thing.


Subaru makes great 4wd vehicles as well. If you go to Montana or Colorado, you'll see a ton of those vehicles on the road. Here in Texas, everyone buys a Ford, Chevy or Dodge 4wd thinking it's some bad-ass vehicle. Take it into the real extremes and you'll find they are more than incapable of handling what they are supposed to.


The original Hummer was bad ass, with a clearance level beyond any 4wd on the market. The H2 however, is nothing but a glorified SUV.

Maybe there's just alot of lesbians out that way? Seriously, ever since Subaru actively marketed to them a few years back, I see a TON of mean-looking short-haired "womyn" around here with UCONN women's basketball stickers on their Subarus ( they even have one putting down the mens team ) and Rainbow stickers to boot. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just an observation really.

There are Subarus all over the part of West Virginia I'm soon moving to. If the area's mountainous, Subaru's probably got a big chunk of the market. I was pretty surprised the first time I visited.

Sorry, but my 87 Landcruiser utterly pwns every other vehicle in existence. Thought I'd mention.

Everyone buys Ford, Chevy, or Dodge because of all the Texas specific advertising, imo. 'If you're not buying Ford, etc, you're not a real Texan.' I drive a Nissan Pathfinder, and I have no delusions about its offroad capabilities. It'd do fine in most off-road situations, but something like that video would tear it a new ahole. :p

As far as the H2's, I've seen probably about 100 of them around. Out of those 100, about 4-5 weren't driven by soccer moms.

The only way I'd even own a HMMVW is if it came with the bullet-proof kit and a 50 Caliber/TOW Launcher, or 40MM Automatic Grenade launcher on the top. I heard you can actually buy military surplus HMMVW with the bullet-proof kit and turret (no gun included however).

Chevy lacks any memorable Texas specific adverts.

a Volvo Cross Country is pretty solid though on and off road, but nothing in my opinion stacks up to the Cherokee, or the rest of the Jeep line (barring the Libery and even it is better than most).

My Dad wants me to get a Durango. I want him to STFU. I'm pretty set on a Cherokee.

I got a Chevy Trailblazer 03.

It's pretty cool. Never driven it off road or anything but I plan to sometime soon.

Heck that new rally tuned Focus that Ford put out gets respect from me.

What does that say about this piece of crap?
