Just curious to see where people get the money for our expensive habit of gaming. I don't own a credit card, probably never will, I've seen to many people get into financial trouble from those. I work and I try to buy a game every paycheck (even if it is a cheap one) if my bills are not that much for the month. Every now and then my parents will buy me a game for the hell of it which is cool of them, same goes with my gf, she'll be me a game every now and then.
Even though my financial focus is buying and selling games, I try to do anything I can that pays money. The few skills I have make for interesting work and I also enjoy hard labor. Really the only thing within reason that I won't do is paint. I hate painting walls.
Basically, I stay as busy as possible.

Work, work, more work. Just the one job, but it gets me by. Also, seeing as it's gaming retail, I get access to employee discounts and usually know instantly when anything I'm interested in drops to insanely low prices. Which is good, if I'd paid full retail for half of what I own I'd be playing them in a cardboard box.

I usually squeeze my pennies from extra lunch money and put my money together with a friend and we buy one copy (I guess that's considered Warez but I don't DL games or anything like that).
I make all my spare cash from doing mods, superguns, and RGB hookups. It more than covers my video game, girlfriend, and Xmas present expenses, plus the occasional trip to Maui, San Fran, or wherever.
All the same, I try to stay thrifty when it comes to buying games. I usually buy used games, and sell them off after I'm done with them so there are minimal losses. The only games I ever buy and keep are shooters, really.
As the commercial says, I'm in debt up to my eyeballs :(

But, seriously, I'm a full-time student right now, so to make ends meet I sell old DVDs, games, and computer components to help make ends meet, and also try and trade for my games whenever possible. I also never pay full price for a game unless I'm trading in something towards getting it. If I don't pick it up when it's on sale, I usually just wait till it goes on sale again before doing it.
I'm still probably spending more than I should, but I'm in the market for a job right now so hopefully I can correct that in the near future :)

Same as James. I also pick up free and cheap crap that I'm not interested in to use for barter later. I also rely on the goodwill or good friends.Quote:

Radio Shack commission usually covers my habit. I'm not too pushy, though, so I don't make too much compared to other people.
