I would say go with MvsC2 myself. There is just soooo much there, and its really really fun to play. XvsSF is fun and all, but feels a little dated if you ask me. MvsC2 is jam packed with lots of varied characters, which gives you lots to experimant with. I think in the end MvsC2 has more replay value, thus a better purchase.
I prefer Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 over part 2.
And was it X-Men vs Street Fighter or Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter that didn't have that shadow version of nash, because that was my fave.
Easily X-Men Vs. Street Fighter. MvC2 was crap.
If you want to play the game in a "I want to fight my friends at this" kind of way, and you can't find Marvel VS Capcom 1 for DC, get X-Men VS Street Fighter. If you just want to see big, ugly sprites fly around and you like fighting games that don't require skill, get MVC2.

To be fair, XvSF was absolutely broken as well, but after the shock value of seeing your favorite Street Fighter Alpha characters with supercharged attacks, the flawed engine (which yielded a plethora of glitches and unfair rules in the fighting engine) is what provided the game's fun and longevity in my eyes.Quote:

I agree. MvC2 just because both games are broken at a competetive level anyway, so at least MvC2 is more 'fun' to just screw around with.
I really liked Nintendo's VS. games. Oh wait, you meant Capcom's VS. games, well I'm not a big fan of them, but I liked Marvel vs. Capcom 2 due to the insane amount of characters from various games and comics featured.
Oh yeah, XvsSF was broken as well but not everyone had infinites and corner trapping didn't really exist left.
I do remember that everyone had an infinite on Juggernaut though :lol:
I prefer XvsSF, the problem is that after playing it for a while, I tend to get bored of choices, as there aren't too many there seeing as how it takes two characters for each selection. But that's the only problem I have with it, it's my favorite of the "Versus".
MvC2 is hella fun for screwing around, and has a great list of characters, but is no way at all to be considered a serious fighter in the slightest. But on that level, I love it. I also seem to be the only player in the world who enjoyed the MvC2 music just because it so contradicted what was going on on-screen, it made the game twice as hilarious and funky. If it had a normal fighting game soundtrack, I doubt I even would've noticed, I sure can't remember any music from the previous ones.
I think I prefer XMvSF, but I also enjoyed MvC2, though that music has to go.
