Well thats the cool part, he didnt get paid by any company, he just started it as a hobby after being disgusted with corporate gigs. It picked up HUGE steam and people started volunteering to put them up for him, the man started his own army. And now he makes big amounts of dough selling limited prints at art galleries.
And interestingly enough he never had any legal problems.

SPACE INVADER and this other guy ZEVS run a crew called @nonmous. ZEVS is the more radical of the two and does attacks on billboards. I had a video clip of him once. Him and someone else in Germany cut a whole female model out of a oversized canvas ad for milk or liquor on a building and posted a message.
It may have been mentioned but I did not catch it, but for all interested in this kind of stuff the movie "Style Wars" is a must watch. Its a Documentary from the early 80s about Tagging and Bombing on New York City subway cars, its an excellent film.
