I was digging through my closet when I found my Virtual Boy. Plugged it in, and you know what? I actually enjoyed some of the games on this thing. Red Alarm was decent, if a bit hard on the eyes, Wario Land was a fun platformer, and, uh, Teleroboxer wasn't that bad.
Mario Clash and Mario Tennis are probably my favorite games for the system, though.
I'm a fan but I won't play it for long periods of time. Mario's Tennis is definitely my favorite game for it. Red Alarm really showed off the hardware.
T&E Virtual Golf is pretty cool too. It was one of the import games EB had.
I love the virtual boy. I remember way back in the day when I used to beg my mom or grandma just to take me to toys r us so I could sit and play that damn thing. i'd walk away with such a headache, and i partially blame it for the reason I need glasses (WHY IS EVERYTHING RED?) but it's one of those things that's always fun to find shoved in the back of your closet. "whoa ho! I spent $200 on this!"
I love the system to death but I can't play for longer than about a 1/2 hour at a time and I prefer playing it laying down with the damn thing proped up on my face. (it's sitting next to my bed right now). Teleroboxer, Wario Land, Tennis, Red Alarm, Vertical Force & V-Tetris are all a lot of fun. I'd love to get my hands on Water World just to try it out but I doubt that'll ever happen.
I enjoy the astonishing disorientation that occurs when you remove the VB off your face after playing it for 30mins or so. Coming back to the multicolored openess of reality is just so damned odd. Playing VB while under the influence(s) is also pretty rad.
I got my VB for free from EB. Trade in any two ps1 game (NBA shootout and Toshinden for me) and get VB and your choice of another game or the adapter. Knowing that this thing sucks up batteries I choose the adapter. I just have tennis though.
I still have yet to play this but a friend of mine is going to give me hers for free. Problem is, it's in storage on the other side of the city so we actually need to have a day free to go over and dig through a house to look for it. Maybe I'll force her to do that for my X-Mas present.
At least the games go cheap on eBay, it'll be easy to stock up on the good ones.

all in all though, you can get the system and 4 games for about $50 now. well worth getting.
Mario Clash can become a religious experience under uh, the right conditions...but it also becomes really damned hard. Def. worth picking up.Quote:

That site has tons of info on unreleased games, including screens of a side-scrolling Mario Bros. demo/proto game. Unreal.
