which would it be and why?
My pick would be Burning Rangers. It's still damn good as it is but I think it would be much better on more powerful hardware. Plus, it would hopefully be more popular.

Shadowrun (for the Genesis) done GTA3-style.
No further explanation necessary.
Gunstar Heroes
Starflight
I wish they'd remake Stretch Panic. It should remain mainly unchanged, but maybe they could make small additions like levels or enemies or a game or something. Yeah, that'd be cool.
Not like I didn't like SP, 'cuz I did. But, you know.
Odd as it may sound, the original Tomb Raider. I loved the game ( and only that one) but the engine has aged very badly. Castlevania 3 would have been a nice remake too. *-neo

As you can see by my Avatar, Burning Rangers is one of my favorites, from Sega. The game just pushed the Saturn's 3-D hardware for all it was worth. I was so hoping to see a sequel on the Dreamcast. This game would make a perfect sequel on the Gamecube. Come on Naka, show us the love!
I know what you mean about Stretch Panic. It has so much going for it but it just needs some spice.
i'd love to see a remake of mega man 1 with mega man 8's animation and music style. with animated scenes to give more detail about the story.
Contra: Hard Corps. There are a lot of little gripes I have with the graphics, and while playing recently I've been thinking how it could be done with newer hardware. It's already an amazing playing game, but I'd love to play a flashier remake that much more. And more buttons would also help; give bomb its own button, etc.
Other worthy games...
Lightening Force (as glossy as TF5), Simon's Quest and the original Legend of Zelda in 3D...
