I say "no". There's no reason to execute anyone who we can reliably imprison forever. I'd like to throw the bastard into a concrete hole, and keep a webcam trained on him 24-7, so people can watch him rot.
Life imprisonment is a greater punishment than execution, it avoids turning Hussein into a martyr, and the prospect of life imprisonment would be far more frightening than execution in the minds of to other dictators.
Im against capital punishment... even for him. Killing him would not be a good thing. People should see how pathetic and lifeless he is.

I said yes. I'm for the death penalty, and I want to watch him die on Pay Per View. I wasn't thinking about what would be "better", just what I would enjoy more.
Most people that get the death penalty appeal it to death. The court cost of killing someone is higher than feeding them and keeping them in a cage for the rest of their lives.
But isn't it cheaper even if the executees don't appeal? That's what I'd heard. (I'm probably wrong.) At least Mzo came right out with the money excuse. It usually takes a lot of arguing to prove to people that the death penalty is revenge before they spit out the money reason. :)
As far as the death penalty goes, if we can't kill unborn children that aren't even sentient yet, then we absolutely cannot kill living, sentient beings.
Hussein should rot in a cell somewhere. Torturing him, or doing to him what he did to his people won't bring any of his victims back or assuage the families it happened to. If there were some way to do that, I am an advocate of it. He's a terrible man, and our catching him is hopefully the start of the U.S. correcting its mistakes from the past.
I'm all for killing him live on PPV and let the revenue pay for all costs.
