If you don't agree with that, that's weird. But taking that logical line of thought, anyone who kills is not good. Hussein = Not Good. In that same vein, though, anyone who kills Hussein (or wants to have Hussein killed) = Not Good.

What I don't agree with is the idea that somehow, through some action, a person "forfeits" their right to live. That's bullshit to me. Nothing anyone does makes it okay to kill them. It's terrible when some guy murders fifteen children, but he still deserves to live. But then, I'm a dirty liberal. :)

I sort of agree on your position but killing somebody under all circumstances is not wrong. If I go to war in the future and I kill somebody in battle I have done no wrong, if I rape and kill some civilian then I have. Maybe my killing of the person is wrong but it was the government who sent me there to kill them so they would be at fault.

You may see it as an excuse in my part to justify killing somebody in an unjust war, but I took an oath and for the most part the US isn't a bad country.

Nobody will benefit if Saddam is killed. Being happy out of revenge doesn't count as benefit IMO.

I don't agree with that. But whatever.

I don't believe in killing criminals, but someone said there's no good reason for it, and I said yeah, it's cheaper than keeping them locked up for life. That's it.

Just lock him up for good in a maximum security prison in a top-secret location (to deter anyone from busting him out) and melt the key down. Hopefully in his confinement he'll have to feel some pangs of remorse. Capital punishment is over too quick.

I'm down with that, but it bears a little fleshing out. death is and end to his suffering, we should lock the bastard down and let him decay in a prison. If he dies, he becomes a martyr, if he lives, he stays a captured symbol of defeat, a "proud leader" snapped helpless in a cage at our mercy. The problem is I don't believe the man will ever think what he did was wrong. I support the bullet in the back of the head idea. Why let that piece of excrement add to the world population any longer, this place isn't all that big when you think about it.

Maybe someday the world will be a better place where murder doesn't occur but as it is now (and will be for some time) murder is necessary in some cases.
