Books mostly. The theme seems to be Historical this year. Mostly on Templars and Free Masons. I'm prepareing myself to take in this vast amount of trivia.
I wanted a Casio Exlim Digital Camera though.
My sister's getting an iPod. I get 3 books and she gets a $300 iPod. Not to mention they bought those books with my discount from working at Gamestop (B&N). They could have gotten me a new Xbox or that Digicam I offered to pay half of or a new HDD from my computer or something.
A customer at my store got me a 50 dollar gift certificate at Pacsun though... I think they spent more on me than my family did.

Could've been worse. About a year ago one of my friends' parents refused to chip in a little cash to help buy him a new pair of boots despite having no problem buying a brand new car for his sister who didn't ask for one. :wtf: $50 Boots > $1500 car?Quote:

That already happend to me man. I've been buying my own damned boots for the past 5 years while sister had my parents pay for her car and her insurance. I drive a 600 dollar '91 Plymoth Voyager. To hear my family talk to reletives:
Parents: "Megan just graduated from the University of Houston and is about to start her job Teaching. We're so prowd of her!"
Reletives:"And your son?"
P: "Oh, he's just got a scholarship to Baylor University since we bought him his own double bass (6 grand). They wouldn't accept him if he didn't have his own instrument."
R: "I mean your other son. Whatshisname..."
P:"who? Oh that guy who gave us an extra $1,000 to buy that bass for our son. He's doing something.. I dunno."

Eh. I can't blame them too much. I mean.. I'd rather my brother got a full shcolarship to Baylor than whatever that one thousand dollars would have bought me. My sister does work hard to get where she's at - she just was given a few more oppurtunities but it's no excuse - she'll make more than enough money now to take care of herself just fine. I've really no excuse to not be doing that for myself. I mean.. you shouldn't expect handouts. Give to whom you wish to give to and be thankfull for the gifts you do recive and all that.
