That's because it's based on Stand Alone Complex, the new series.

Magic Box says Production IG (the anime production company) is the developer. Have they done any games before? Hopefully they won't screw it up due to inexperience...

let's see. the notoriously wrong magic box says an anime studio is developing a game, and you assume they're right? o_O

not to mention that production IG works with sony all the time on games (yarudora series) and never was credited with the development of those (they were sugar & rockets, on PS1 at least.)

I'm pretty sure Innocence is a follow-up to the movie. I like both the movie and the manga, and I appreciate the differences. I'd imagine by the time the first movie was being made, Mamoru Oshii was tired of cuteness in stories alltogether, having directed alot of Urusei Yatsura and the sometimes wacky Patlabor.

Like I'd know that. Those are conflicting statements anyway - have they or have they not done development work (not animation) on games?

Production IG is an anime studio period. They have never done game development work, though they do a shit load of FMV for games so you'll see them pop in the credits of almost any game with an anime intro. Maybe that's what causes confusion.

All I'm getting is red xs for the pics so I can't really comment on this game.
