Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Jak 1 & II
Gran Turismo 3 (until 4 comes out)
Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero

TimeSplitters 2
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance

Any fan of racing needs to play Burnout and Burnout 2. The finest arcade racers ever, I think.
The original's Survival Mode remains one of the hardest challenges I've ever faced, and has tracks with six-minute laps. Plus you can drive a Tow Truck and a Bus the wrong way on the freeway.
Burnout 2 has some amazing replay value. It's got a deep scoring system, the time trials can be PGR-tough, and Crash Mode never gets old (especially with friends). It also boasts one of the best in-game engines on the system - there's so much on-screen activity at such a high rate of speed with no slowdown.
The games are different enough to warrant owning each.
15 bucks at Circuit City. The tag may say 49.99, but trust me, it's 15 bucks.Quote:

I know I said I'd wait for ya, but 15 bucks...
Sorry, Nomi.
Pwned by Circuit City. Hey, at least I bought something else, right?
And Bio, was the original Burnout any good? I love, love, love the sequel, but that's because of the crash mode. Is that in there, too?
The original Burnout's great, but for different reasons compared to Point of Impact. It's got a silly banjo-laced soundtrack (no custom soundtrack as in the XB PoI). There's a lot more emphasis on pure traffic dodging rather than the sequel's focus on boost-chaining - the original's much more of a twitch experience. The main GP mode is a lot shorter too. Survival Mode is brilliant - you have to drive three laps of each course without crashing once. It's haaaaaard, on the six-minute-per-lap Marathon courses in particular. There's also an interesting Free Run mode, which lets you cruise the courses with no traffic (kind of against the Burnout formula, but hey, there it is). And as I mentioned, there's a Tow Truck and double-decker Bus as unlockable vehicles - pure fun, especially in multiplayer. It doesn't look as good as the sequel, obviously, but keeps the sense same sense of speed without slowdown.Quote:

It's not as flashy, deep, or long as the sequel, but it's got a couple different features that I think make it worth owning. You can probably find it for $10 or so new, which is definitely worth it.
Cool.
I got the PS2 Burnout2 for free... is there any reason that I'd want to pick up the Xbox Director's Cut?
