I voted GameCube because of P.N.03, Viewtiful Joe, Wind Waker, and F-Zero.
I probably would have voted Xbox as #1 if I was on Live, or GBA as #1 if I actually had the money to buy all the good games on it.
GBA hands-down, I've probably put close to twice as much time playing that than any of the home consoles this year :)
PS2. I hate the system, but I love the games on it.
i am surprised gc is doing so well, . anyhow, no huge surprise what i voted for, but i have to say, this is the first full year i have had access to a pc that can actually play some of pc's better titles, and i have come away impressed. Pc nearly could have taken it if it werent for the fact that most if not all pc games come out needing patches, i prefer being able to play a game like it should be played out of the box, not weeks after release. I also loved the x-box this year, otogi, kotor, a little pso, made it a very worthwhile system this year, now if fable and true fantasy online come out, i will scuttle the gc and pc entirely. Still no ps2, still not at the magic price for me, once i see a reputable option for 99, i get it, guilty gear xx, dark cloud, drakken and some monster rancher 4 and enjoy myself. Gba had a good year, but i just dont get to it as much.
The difference is that I am right, and he is wrong.Quote:

A better look gives my Xbox and JPS2 a fair tip upwards. And Dreamcast, dammit. I just got it this year/month...

No, I just think you're stupid for doing that. Do what you like to your own things, but if you disliked it so much you could have just sold it but with that damage don't expect any buyer to give you much for it.Quote:

It's a really shitty system. Cry :)

It's technically superior to the PS2. Has games like Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil remake, and a $50 Game Boy Player that lets you play all of the awesome GBA games that single-handedly beat any other console's library. Real shitty system.Quote:

You stink like a fanboy.
What isn't?
Shitty Rehash. Boring as hell. Shitty rehash. I'll give you that one. Shitty rehash.
I prefer to play to play my GBA games on screens where pixels are the size of my fist, though I did buy it for curiosity sake.
I agree.
I stink like someone who bought a Gamecube and realized it was the worst thing I bought since the Sega CD, which I hold in higher esteem since Ground Zero Texas to this day is still a great comedy.
Sniff, someone disagreed with you. Take a look at your avatar, this is the literary form of it.
The Gamecube isn't all the bad, but I couldn't fathom it being the only system I own. The controller sucks for pretty much any game that isn't a 1st party Nintendo game.
Pros: Some awesome exclusive games like Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Zelda WW
Easy to move around
Animal Crossing
Easy to import for thanks to the Freeloader
4 controller ports
Cons: Controller
Usually gets shoddy ports of the multi-platform games
No good RPGs
Memory card doesn't hold enough
I think the Gamecube is a good companion system but doesn't have enough good games to hold it's own.
I played the hell out of my Xbox, but I'm not dumb enough to let my slight fan-boyism blind me from the fact that the PS2 had the most diverse selection of quality games.
Neato! *wonders if Best Buy has it so he can use his $30 gift card*Quote:

you're much better off just getting the Museum for any of the 3 consoles out right now. $5 cheaper, and it has a lot more games. not to mention all the good arrangements, and the ability to save all your scores.
oh my god, i just noticed that thing doesn't even have Galaga on it!?!?!?!. that thing isn't worth shit.
the Musuem for $5 less is such a better deal it isn't even funny.
It's just 2 RCA jacks. One for sound, one for video.Quote:

Didn't you used to hate the Xbox, Slip? :p
i see the gimmick. i even considered buying one until i saw that that piece of shit has no Galaga. seriously, that's just fuckin digusting. that's a joke. that's just inexcusable.Quote:

anyways, it really just is common sense to get yourself any of the museums. Namco Museum contains Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, Galaga, Dig Dug, Pole Position, and Pole Position II. The game also features arranged versions of Galaga, Dig-Dug, and Pac-Man which are really good (especially the Galaga ones).
you can't go wrong with any of them, but i recommend getting it on xbox or GameCube, since Mass Media bothered to take advantage of those shoulder buttons and put in anolog steering, gas, and brakes for Pole Position.
so yeah, get it on xbox or GameCube. the GBA version is also a must buy for anyone who owns the system. they're perfect portable games, it's cheap, and it's easily the best compilation on the system.
as for that other piece of shit Galaga-less mother fucker...guys, don't support. seriously, it's just not right making something like that and not putting Galaga on it. i mean, im probably the biggest Namco fan here, and no way in hell would i buy that.
The first year was awful. Down right awful. In my opinion, it was the biggest turn around I had ever seen. I compare it to say the NGage churning out GBA quality games. I think it was omfgninjas in the recent article who had to admit that he was wrong about the XBOX sucking as well. So yes, I was wrong on this account..the GC though is in a league beyond where I thought the XBOX was though.Quote:

DUDE..GIMMICKY...COOL.. =DQuote:
Lucas said a lot of stuff
Oh, and oddly enough I just played the Namco Museums for GBA on Christmas Day. My aunt had it so I tried it out. Curse the man who invented scrolling Ms. Pac Man. Then I put it on full screen and I had to squint my way to victory. Bah..
Dude, that's offensive. I played my Sega CD a hell of a lot more than my GC. It's got Lunar 1/2 (which make it a better system for RPGs), Shining Force, Snatcher, Sonic CD and ummm...Sewer Shark  AND MANY MORE! Don't forget all of the CD+G and karaoke titles you could play.Quote:

That's neat that some people etch little love messages into their favorite consoles too.
Viva la Gamecube!
I give an edge to PS2 for having slightly more original content, but in general there have been too many remakes, rereleases, and sequels on all systems this year. As for GCN, all I can say is... my N64 collection is complete once again!
Ah, GBA and Xbox are tied at #1.
Sounds about right for the year... though the Xbox really came through near the end. What an upset.

We're all worried you're going to steal it.
GBA. Its the only system with stellar 1st and 3rd party support.
