I just picked up the new Famitsu PS2 (week or so old, but new to me) and it did the year's review by category. I'll list the top three for each category and some others that may be worth mentioning.

****This issue doesn't include some of the newest releases GT4 Prologue comes to mind. This also doesn't reflect the scores of weekly Famitsu.

Holy shit, American games.

It seems strange that MoH Rising Sun got such high scores. :wtf:

How is it that Soul Calibur 2 is on there, but not VF4EVO? They both came out last year in Japan, didn't they? And come to think of it, why is there no fighting game category? Especially odd when there's a 'simulation' category that apparently only applies to 'simulating' piloting giant robots.

Yeah, the 'simulation' thing is kind of strange. Anyhow, VF4EVO is in the issue. VF4EVO received a score of 32/40. This is odd because normal Famitsu usually loves VF. Like I said, this is Famitsu PS2.

As far as Famitsu's rep, well, I can't say I agree with these Famitsu PS2 scores all that much... but I usually find regular Weekly Famitsu to be rather consistent.
