Wavebird Question

Ok, so I already had 4 remotes for my Cube, but they're pretty worn out threw all the gaming nights i've had with people. So I decided to get a Wavebird for myself on December 2nd. Problem is it already died out it's 100 hour lifespan. Is it the same if i get regular rechargeable AA's for the Wave or do I really need to order those Extra Heavy Duty batteries that we're included?

well i just use regular AA's and not rechargeables and it lasts me a long time

That's odd, I usually find my rechargeable last longer than Alkaline batteries, but I use the more expensive NiMH kind rather than the NiCa (?).

If you use it a lot get rechargeables, it'll save money in the long run.

Makes sense, I would think NiMH batteries would last a while in a Wavebird.
NiMH = good
NiCad = crap

The first set of batteries in my WaveBird lasted me about nine months... The second set only about three months. But I'm certain they actually last more than 100 hours (Nintendo always underrates their consumer products so people don't complain about not performing as well).

I always get a ton of life out of my Wavebird batteries, but I have no real estimates. My only problem with the controller is not battery life, but the fact that they don't come in colors... I'd like to be able to tell which is on which frequency at a glance.

Also, about your other controllers being worn out, do you mean some of the buttons are sticking? I had a B button that always seemed like it was pushed down, and I had to push it further to register a button press. Easy enough to fix, grab the controller grips really firmly, and twist them in opposite directions, like you were trying to open a jar or something. The buttons pop back into place and are as good as new.

Of course, if that's not your problem, heh, I don't know. But that advice saved me the however-much-a-new-controller-costs I was about to shell out to replace it.

No rumble feature too. Supposedly they working on a new wavebird with rumble. I have no other info as to release date and such. Sucks. I hope they make one. Even tho it will drop the battery life.

I saw platinum colored WaveBirds in GameStop the other day. So there's grey and platinum now...
