Because this is TNL's list. Not Master's list. Not The Best People of TNL list or the People On TNL That Most of Us Like list. All of TNL.

So for me, that means the same rule as Master's everyone-agree-on-a-single-title thread applies; the game's alive until a single individual shoots it down. And when it's shot down, even by a single person, it's gone. Period.

I'll even raise the stakes in saying that if this list is finalized with games I want vetoed in the ranks, I want my account banned and all of my posts and threads erased. I'm not kidding.

That's why you use a ranking system. Your vote counts as much as mine, as Master, as Jeremy, etc. Just cause you don't like FFVII, but 99 others out of 100 on TNL think it is a top 100, doesn't mean it isn't a top 100 game.

Well, yes and no, depending on how much you want to bend the term.

If I absolutely despise FF7 and want it nowhere near such a list, yet a billion other people love it and want it on a list that's worded for -all of us-, then either a) the list is wrong or b) my opinion is irrelevant.

Hence my stakes.

I think that using normal statistical process(es) that are used for determining market opinion is the best course. Which given you scenario the answer would be closest to b), given the law of averages.

So far I don't think I've read any opinions of why any particular game should be vetoed.
Likewise, few opinions have been offered why any game should be on the list.
We're all just making lists and assuming everyone knows why said games are the greatest ever.

Right, so we're in agreeance that if my opinion is irrelevant, so is my participation in this thread and on this board.

If this were the case with everyone we'd have one of 2 things happen...

1. The list would contain at best 40 games

2. The vast majority of the board & its members will be gone.

It's impossible to perfectly please everyone. Just because you don't care for a game doesn't mean it's horrible and undeserving of a spot on the list.
