Iron Man

Sorry for jumping to conclusions. A new account appearing just to make a single post in support of a new release game or movie happens with depressing frequency around here.

Fuck. I have to wait until Saturday to see this.

I saw it last night. As a movie, it was fucking great. As a comic to movie translation of Iron Man, it was amazing. I think Spider-Man 1&2 were better movies overall, but as far as translating the comic into a perfect living, breathing world, it was more spot-on than any comic book movie ever. Robert Downy Jr. was beyond awesome as Tony Stark, and Gyenyth Paltrow is that rare breed of woman that seems to get cute as she ages as opposed to the other way around. Also, I loved that they translated a storyline from the comics that I was actually collected and own the issues of.

Retractable stripper pole on Stark's private jet FTW. lol!!!!

Also loved how much they used live-action armor as opposed to non-stop CG-overload. It was actually really hard to tell where the live-action ended and the CG began. Stan Winston is the f'in man.

Can't wait for the sequel.

The only thing I can complain about: Tony admitting he was Iron Man to the press at the end. wtf.

Also, what happened to Sam Jackson as Nick Fury and the Hulk tie-in scene? Was that after the credits or was it just a stupid rumor?

Fury is after the credits, and RDJ as Stark is going to appear in Hulk's movie, not the other way around.

I'm pumped to see this. www.Rottentomatoes.com has this at a 94%! Making it the best reviewed film this year. Thats saying a TON for a superhero/action movie.

The only small thing I thought was off in the movie.

When pepper was running from Iron Monger.

Saw this last night. I'd put it right up there next to Transformers. The special effects were great. The characters were brilliant. There was nothing overdone about this film. Just perfect.

I hope it's not as shitty as Transformers.

I was about to get up, cause the credits end and about 20 seconds later you hear the door open. And Stark says lights, then he asks Jarvis to deactivate the security system. He walks down the steps into his living room and the camera pans and you see a silohetted figure in the window. Stark asks.

Stark: Who are you?

Man: You don't know me, but I know you ... Mr. Stark.

The man turns and he starts walking towards the camera. You see the eyepatch and the voice is unmistakable.

NF: My name ... is Nick Fury and I need to speak to you about the Avengers Initiative.
