I got a chance to try offline for the first time today. I finished the first scenario with Mark (Black security guard). I think this is a nice twist on the series. I am glad it is a "gaiden" and not RE4, because it is definitely different, but I like it. Do yourself a favor and pick a character that starts out with a gun the first couple times you play. Those would be Kevin and Mark. It makes getting the hang of everything much easier.
The single biggest difference I see between REO and the main series is that it is not possible to clear out areas. Zombies will disappear if you kill them, but more will spawn soon enough. It works well with the plotline of escape. Remember, these are not STARS members, who are trained to be combatants. They are just civilians caught in the middle.
My biggest complaint is that there are multiple servers online, and there is currently no way to pick which one you go to. If you and a buddy end up on diferent servers, you are SOL until someone tries to log back in and gets lucky. Supposedly, there will be a fix for this coming soon. The volume of players was highr than expected, so they weren't ready.
Yeah, I agree. I dont like being rushed through the areas, barely having time to explore around and pick up things. It makes it even harder with respawning zombies, and slow reacting characters. Even Kevin who is the closest thing to STARS is too friggin slow.

I didn't have any problems connecting with the Beta version.
Not being a big fan of Resident Evil, would you guys say this game would be good for the online play?
It sounds like it is quite different from RE anyway, so maybe I'd like it.
Get out of our thread, pinko! :pQuote:

I really want to play this, but from what I'm hearing, I'm not going to touch it until I get the HDD, and lord only knows when that will be.
yup.
