This isn't the first time that the Big Bang Theory has been questioned. As we know more, we revise our earlier findings accordingly, and quite often, they are thrown out and replaced.
This is one of the good things about science, and something that is completely out of the question with religion obviously.
Yeah, it's not that the big bang theory is being thrown into question, it's that the current physical models of it are. That would be like saying that because there are a couple of questionable verses in the Bible, that make no sense whatsoever, the whole Bible is worthless.

I don't mind Captain Vegetable being smarmy because he's not a moron, and understands the implications of this. But there are a lot of idiots out there that would read that article, not understand a word of it and think it meant "The Big Bang Theory is totally wrong".
