Ebay woes.

Not sure if I'm right about this, but shouldn't someone who cancels all bids and closes the auction in the final hour of biding be punished somehow? Don't get me wrong, I have closed a few auctions early before because I decided I didn't want to part with what I selling(usually a videogame). But I did it days before it was supposed to close and emailed everyone to let them know. I just think if you commit to a bid and don't follow through you get negative feedback it should be the same for someone who cancels everything in the final hour because they don't want to sell it anymore. Bitch!

A bidder who refuses to pay for an auction he won costs the seller time and money.

A seller who pulls his item out late costs you nothing but your hopes. It's a dick move for sure, but you haven't lost anything material so you shouldn't have any recourse.

I agree, I just think it's lame. Now the seller, after I expressed interest that I was prepared to spend a lot, wants me to compete against his buyer via email. He must be thinking he's dealing with a ebay newbie or a retard. Oh well.

There could be many reasons for this.

#1. He got a better offer outside of eBay and decided to end it and sell it to that person.

#2. Decides not to part with it anymore as it was not going for the price he was looking for.

But honestly there is nothing wrong about it nor should the person get punished. You didnt lose anything and they didnt do anything wrong to you but get your high hopes up. If he ended the auction and you're the winning bidder, you can complain, but still, you didnt lose anything cuz you didnt send payment. If you sent payment and he never sent, its a different story.

When that happens to me, yes, I do get mad, but I just move on and find another deal. Its not the end of the world. Suck it up like a man and move on with your life.

This is unrealted to the what bishop is talking about, but this jackass just left neg feedback for me, I sold him audio gear, in the feedback hes talking about how i sent him the wrong shoe size, fucking genius. plus ebay wont respond to my request to have it removed and im in the middle of an auction run. gaynezz.

There have been times I've put stuff up for sale on eBay whose price didn't get as high as I was hoping, and I was tempted to kill the auction before it ended. I've ultimately never followed through and actually done it, but I can understand from a seller's point of view when it does happen.

Besides, just about everything that ever appears on eBay will undoubtedly appear again sometime down the road, so it's really not all that big a deal.

eBay will not remove feedback. The only way to have it removed is by going to SquareTrade and have a mediator help you resolve it. Only thing is, who ever files for the mediator will have to pay for the fee which is about $20.

Bandit, I went to to the Contact eBay page and there is an option to make a request to have feedback removed but I filed the claim about 1 week ago and there ha been no response, I think you are right .
