The county-by-county map of the 2000 presidential race looked like a population density chart. As a presidential nominiee, Edwards' ability to captivate more suburban and rural voters would clinch a victory for democrats. Edwards has my vote if he's still in the race on my March 2nd caucus.
Looks like we have a prophet in our midst.
Very exciting race tonight in Wisconsin. I think an Edwards win would be great news for Democrats.
First time voting in a primary...go me!
Go Edwards! Read my 2 posts above! Half the battle in politics is taking the best stance on issues, while the other half is delivering the message in a way that sounds appealing to all voters. Watch him during the next debate, and you'll see what I mean.
The democrat that comes out of this race will help our generation more than Bush. With Bush's huge tax cuts plus ignorance of the environment and fuel economy standards, WE and FUTURE generations--not the baby boomers controlling our government now--will have to pay the gigantic interest of the national debt (increasing by $0.5T/year), suffer from health problems caused by toxic levels of pollution, and resolve petroleum and energy shortages. It's like they're taking a loan to live the good life at our expense. We desperately need a balanced budget and sustainable, environmentally-friendly energy independence. We can tackle these problems if we act now. Make sure you vote in your primaries and also the national election.
Good article on Kerry's incoherence and pandering
Ive been reading up on Kerry lately, and I really dont like the guy - he's smarmy, arrogant, and about as far from "being about the little guy" as one can possibly he. He is married to a Heinz, for fuck's sake. He represents just about everything wrong with politics, and if he wins the nomination, he's gonna get slaughtered once all of this gets out more and more - especially, say, that Vietnam era speech he gave.
Good article my ass. Not disagreeing or agreeing with any accusations, but all of the author's "points" are wildly speculative.
Am I supposed to be surprised that a conservative like Andrew Sullivan doesn't like John Kerry?
Quite frankly, I would be surprised if many people liked Kerry.
He has the momentum of a runaway freight train, but I think thats more because people just think he could "beat Bush" than they actually thinking he's a good man for the job. He reminds me of a 2nd rate Al Gore.
Normally, maybe, but all people have to do is like him better than Bush.
That said, I'm beginning to like Edwards more and more, and his fortunes may be shifting now that Dean is quitting.
