I am gonna start on one of the RPGs in my pile of shame, but I need to know how long they are in order to choose.
About how many hours will it take to complete:
1) FF8
2) FF9
3) FFX
4) Suikoden
5) Shenmue
6) Mario RPG
7) Paper Mario
8) Neutopia
I prefer RPGs to be between 15-30 hours tops. Input?
FFX will take at least 30 hours and I think that Paper Mario is around 20. It's been awhile since I played Shenmue, but I think I finished it around 20 hours. And Mario RPG is the shit, so just play it. I think it's less than 30 hours.
paper mario. nuetopia, and suikoden should fit that time schedule; depening how much luck/desire you have in trying to find everything.
FFX, maybe 40 to 60 hours, depending on how many mini-games you want to do.... I ended up over 80+ hours b/c I played a ton of blitz ball to get Wakka's ultimate weapon.
Paper Mario is pretty short, maybe 20?
Shenmue can be long b/c... you have to wait for things to happen.
I think Shenmue can be finished in 20 hours, and most everything else that has been said so far I can agree with. No idea on Neutopia though, I'm not familiar with that one.
I don't think you can finish FFX in 30 hours and enjoy it... you'd be rushing. Same goes for VIII and IX actually.
I finished Paper Mario in a few days, granted I didn't find
all the secrets. Neotopia was short too under a week for me.

5) Shenmue somewhere above 50

Not only haven't I played it, I have no idea what it is. As for what's wrong with me, I don't know that either...
I'm fairly sure Shenmue can be beaten in your time frame, to reiterate. I didn't really explore too much when I played that, just did what I had to and messed around in the arcades a bunch.
It was one Turbografx 16 owners answer to a prayer for a Zelda-ish game.
Don't know how well it stands up today, but I've mounds of nostalgia for it.
