Final Fantasy VII Advent Children

Just finished it, had is downloading while I was at school all day.

I never beat FFVII, nor did I play all that much of it. I've seen the ending and had a general idea of everything, so most of this made sense to me (minus a few characters that went unnamed).

Last fight was badass, and it was pretty as I expected a Squeenix movie to be.

Oh, I am totally stealing the soundtrack when it's release. It was pretty rad.

I agree with this. I mean it was cool but I wanted more of sword fight. Then again in the game didn't he tranform into the big one winged angel and casted a summon that should have destoyed the planet they where fighting on?

I laughed when the dudes cell phone rings and it's the fucking battle theme. Tifa had the best fight by far though, so that whole scene was rock.

I disagree, I don't know I liked FFVII, but a huge portion of why I did was the story and Sephiroth which I thought there could have been an assload more of both in here

from a technical perspective the movie LOOKED AMAZING some really nice work done by the square artists there, for the most part the animation was really good, though it was pretty obvious where they were using some motion capture, and I don't know just didn't cut the excess frames right cause there was some herky jerky stuff there that could have been smoothed out

I will say the sephiroth/cloud battle was awesome, maybe that's what I wanted 2 hours of sephiroth and cloud, no Kadja

I just watched it and I don't know not sure how I really feel about it yet, it didn't blow me away like it did everyone else *shrug* I'll have to watch it again tomorrow

That's pretty much how I feel too. I thought I'd be a lot better...I would have liked to have seen more locations. It seemed like there were only like 6 sets. It felt like a really narrow, incomplete story to me.

What characterization they do have is drawn from references to FFVII which are for the most part not explained at all, so you'll probably be really lost every time a deus ex machina happens and you'll have no idea who entire portions of the cast are (then again, they don't really do anything with any of the new characters except Kadaj anyway). See it for the fight scenes.

see this is what i think bothered me about the film

I thought since they were bringing back all these characters we'd get some nice character development a deepening of the story, an explination on where all the humans go 500 years later etc etc, but instead we get a bunch of fight scenes and a story about as deep as ong baks to link them all together, I'm also not a fan of the camera zooming all over the place while your characters flip around and all you see is flashy blurs for fight scenes, but that's me

Granted, I wasn't expecting fine cinema, but I was at least hoping for the plot to either (A) continue the plot of Final Fantasy 7 in a way that related to the game more than "Jenova is bad and Aeris dies" or (B) make sense.

The Aeris' cock-teasing got real old, real fast. I wanted them to go into that so much more, or at least do so in a meaningful way, but instead they just subjected her to a Ghostwriter act. Lame.

Sephiroth showing up just to show up was also lame.

Cloud with the ability to fly is lame.

Little girl with mog doll was beyond cute.

Final Fantasy: Advent Children is like a super model. Beautiful but painfully retarded.

EXCATELY and it's the sequel to game that had an assload of story to it

Honestly, I think Spirits Within was better. That at least tried to be a movie instead of a really long cutscene.
