Is the paparazzi right? Should people be honest?
A politician meets an atractive woman. After a couple of drinks they head up to the room. When they are half way undressed, a photographer kicks open the door and snaps a picture. The flash is blinding, and by the time the politician recovers the hot chick is gone just like his career.
My friend Cameran was a fan of the paparazzi. He felt that no one should have anything to hide. Even when it came to sex. He even thought Ralph Nader was probably a sellout on some levels. Cameran is probably watching, "Jerry Springer - too hot for T.V." right now back in Chicago. He thought everything should always be exposed as brutally as possible.
He almost seems to make sense until you picture yourself in the same situation. Trying to have sex and the door is kicked open and someone takes a picture of your ass. You don't even get to have sex. The point is to take your picture, not to get you laid.
Still, some people would agree with Cameran the stubbornly honest friend I met through Scot Lacy (a mutual friend). Now it's time to take it to a vote.
Do people have a right to privacy, or is the Surveillance Society the most moral choice?
