Ed the Sock sucks. I used to like him a lot and before I knew about Late Night I'd of sided with Ed. But Ed the Socks insults are borderline whiney 50% of the time and the other half of the time he's complaining about some stupid thing. He sucks.
The thing's a joke.
'"It's typically cheap humour, one note," he said of his Late Night nemesis. "The character itself is a one-note gag. You know, he poops on things, he pees on things, and says old insults."'
Sounds to me like this guys sock puppet routine sucks ass.
No offense, but you're an idiot.
I'm going to assume you misread what I wrote. That was a quote from the sock guy talking about Triumph. I'm saying that guys sock puppet routine sucks ass because anyone that says "The character itself is a one-note gag. You know, he poops on things, he pees on things, and says old insults.", about Triumph doesn't know what comedy is.
What I dont understand is why Canadians get their panties in a bunch everytime someone, especially from the USA, just makes fun of them. This isn't the only time, either. I remember there was a magazine a few years back that put a bunch of mounties on the cover with a headline that was a joke... and people in Canada were outraged. And Pat Buchanan once made fun of Canada on a talking heads show, and it caused quite a row for a little while.Quote:
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog visited Quebec's Winter Carnival and, as his name suggests, insulted passersby, calling French Canadians "obnoxious and dull."
Jeez, people, get some thicker skin.
That's because Canadians get made fun of all the time. It's like the Great North Joke.
French-Canada = Professional Victim
It's really just the french portion. They're always trying the "holier than thou" approach to the rest of Canada (french first and foremost in street and business signs, conversing with shop owners etc., not to mention the seperatist movement -- I'm sure someone from mtl will back me up on this) but when the heat is on in their oven it turns into some national issue about racism or bigotry or whatever. And this is actually pretty funny, because I've been to some places around the border between Quebec and Ontario and they'll give you dirty looks if you're not talking in french.Quote:
