Door still open for a new NIGHTS game?

NiGHTS still looks good to me and it plays better than 95% of games out there. We need more games that as so expertly polished like NiGHTS is. It is every bit as vital now as it ever was and I'd be all over a sequel. :)

I should clarify by saying there's nothing wrong with the graphics in the original. I'm just saying it would be the same game with updated graphics - Sort of a Nighs Remix kind of thing.

I was wowed playing it the first time through, but it never captured my attention after that.

It did have the 'wonder' feel down lock and key (sort of like Ico, but Ico isn't really a fair comparison). Only there wasn't much artistry after you got past the initial 'wow' feeling.

Different strokes I guess :/

Thank God someone else feels that way. I have no idea why NiGHTS gets as much positive feedback as it does. It wasn't even as good as Crash Bandicoot at that time, and that comes from someone who was a huge Sega fan from about 1988 until they went to hell recently.

While we have heard this before, I'm excited because it's a bit more positive and a stronger statement than we have heard before.

I dissagree with this.

I have played games in the last few years that still give me the same feeling of awe that something like Nights gave me all those years ago.

Final Fantasy X
Jet Grind Radio
Wind Waker
Warcraft 3
Beyond Good and Evil

There are still games being made wtih style on par with Nights, I think it's just very easy to get overly jaded after years and years of playing games that all we do is harken back for the olden days.

Atleast IMO of course.

Well, I'm surprised by the amount of Nights hate here....

Anyway, I conducted that interview with Iizuka, and when he spoke of Nights, I could tell that he really does feel strongly about it. It was really his brainchild, not Naka's...and I do believe that he will make a true sequel someday. He wants to do it, it's a matter of convincing Sega to let him.

Here's to hoping it ends up happening, or at least a remake with new-age graphics.
