Sounds about right. Playing SA2 and Sonic Heroes is hell. With UGA eaten by Sonic Team, and Sonic Team sucking it up hard, my interest in Sega wanes.

And they're not going to give me Virtua Cop 3. I want it so bad.

There are two home games I want from Sega right now, and they are Virtua Cop 3 and OutRun 2. The fact that they are waffling on their home release makes Sega worthless to me, and that makes me very sad. :cry:

Naka tends to get too much praise(and blame) for Sonic Team's games at the expense of other members like Iizuka. Who was the director of Burning Rangers and PSO?

And those bashing Sonic Team's recent games better have played Billy Hatcher. It's quite a good game.

If Sonic Team does indeed go ahead with NiGHTS 2, they really need to dedicate every resource to it's development. I want more than flashy graphics and a new storyline, I want something along the lines of a new controller, like they had planned for Aero NiGHTS.

Nights is an excellent game, but I have a feeling that if a remake was made, that most of the masses would overlook the title. The game is very unique and anyone that questions it's viability as a great game, needs to take a step back and play the game for what it is. It's games like Nights, that help push the industry in new directions, rather than the same old, same old.

Crash Bandicoot? I don't think so!


BTW: I have a Nights pillowcase as well. It came with the 3-d controller set.

As I said in the Top 15 Sega games of all time list: I'd just like an update with new graphics. They could just take the first game, spiffy up the graphics, and add more levels. Hell, even make a sequel with the same basic structure of the original. Put it all on one disk, sell it for $20-30 new, and I'm happy.

I'd also be happy with an all-new game, but the likeliness of that happening are still pretty slim.

Good Lord, a NiGHTS sequel *could* have every bit of magic and wonder from the original and more, with today's visuals.

I imagine a NiGHTS sequel with very similar "3D on a 2D path" gameplay. It could work in true 3D but that might make it more difficult to get into the rhythm of getting links.

Imagine NiGHTS flying down over a field and rolling hills at dusk. Little animals scamper along in the field as he lazily flies over it. Then he crosses a lake. His hand dips into it causing wake and ripples. Then he careens upwards with a quick dart, paralooping around stars and chips, then he locks onto a Nightmaren and banishes it into whatever nether-region his paraloop .. um... banishes things. Imagine this with razor-sharp textures (sorry PS2) and at 60 fps pushing 10 million polygons or more per second. Imagine watching a replay of you level from cinematic camera angles!

It should be much easier to make more levels than the original Saturn NiGHTS had. YEah, we'd need more levels, a bit more diversity and tougher bosses. Care has to be taken to give that 'freedom of flight' feeling and also that 'racing game/links' feeling that sucked many of us. I really hope NiGHTS is remade with this mentioned guy at the helm, someone who holds the original dear to heart like I do.
